@@TachyBunker it is good to have natural speed but words like вы is hard to hear and pronounce. If i could slow any words down it would be words like that and ты etc.

@@user-tl3py4sj7m of crse you'll say it is good, you are Russian, you will NOT find problem hearing the words because that's your mother language. But for foreigners, we can NOT follow, its too damn fast for us :/

thought id give russian a try, but damn its hard. can barely count to five :D

Well, counting is not so important when you just start learning a language 😉 It's better to learn such phrases as I like, give me, I can, can you? etc.

Yullia- I’m Irish, and I know I speak English very quickly. So I’m sure it’s the same in most languages, it’s just that we don’t catch every word when it appears to be so fast. But that’s okay. We have to learn. This is hard for me.

When teaching others something new, normal speed is too fast. I dont recall ever learning ANYTHING at the normal pace of the already proficient. As an adult educator, I dont start students off with medical terms (Latin etc.) by just speaking at the pace I use when speaking with other medical professionals. If one does not know how to break things down for the beginner, they do NOT know how to teach and will have students struggling, failing and giving up. There are good teachers and poor teachers. The difference is the ability to start at the pupil's pace and slowly bring them up...NOT overwhelming them.

"по" mean "in" the original meaning of the sentence "I only speak a little Russian" is "I know little russian". and " говорить по" means "speak in"

When it says "I'm English" etc. - is that only the male form though? I thought the female forms were different...is that distinction archaic nowadays or would people look at you funny if you said "Ya Anglichannin" as a woman, instead of "Ya Anglichanka" for example?

every language does this with native speakers. when you speak your own language, you don't take a pause between every word to speak clearly, do you? all your words flow into one another. it's called fluency.
