I recall shopping at Tyler Mall when it was undergoing the first expansion.
I have so many memories at this mall from the early 90s
In the mid 70's my sister and her friend rode their horses down off the hill (El Mesa, now know a Canyon Ridge) and into the Tyler Mall. They were chased out by security, but not before riding from one end to the other. Nothing happened to them. They were just told not to do it again.
I used to frequent that mall to shop at The Sharper Image, Nordstrom, Sam Goodie and the cigar shop for cool lighters. With all those stores gone now the last time I was there was to take advantage of the sales in Nordstrom before they shuttered their doors. For those who live in Riverside we still have Nordstrom Rack at the Riverside Plaza. That’s another mall with a rich history and major changes.

Been to that place many times. Always go to the Marshalls and have eaten at the El Torito there.
in 1980 ronald reagan landed in the parking lot in a helicopter and gave a speech while running for president. we went to protest. it was a really big crowd, mostly cheering for him. we got pretty close, could see him clearly.
Man my childhood was all through that mall, used to get all my DBZ things from the mall n plaza
Remeber the arcade , in front of the police station in the mall
I worked at this mall thank you so much for posting , quite a bit exploring , there is a 3rd level unused creepy room in the former broadway / forever 21 . The basement still has tons of vintage photos from opening

Locals call it Tyler Mall. I still call it that.
I grew up across the street on Ross St. I also worked security there for a while. Basically my whole childhood for 20 years was going to this mall thanks!
Was there a giant arcade at the bottom of the escalators in this mall back in the early 90’s?

Yes I think it was called Insert Coins
I don't remember shopping there often; but do recall driving by it every time my family and I would drive from Moreno Valley to Orange County. Had the Moreno Valley Mall, Ontario Mills Mall, or Victoria Gardens not opened, my parents and I would have shopped there more often.

Happy New Year to you
We grew up going to that mall. Back in the 70's they had some cool Christmas decorations. During the 80's we would spend hours there just hanging out. Early 80s, we were goofing around one day, and some dude was handing out flyers promoting an autograph signing over at the Mad Platter record store. Some no name group called the Bangles, lol! Who knew they'd blow up.??? (This was for the debut album. )

Ahhh yeah. Now this is my childhood mall. I only remember it as 2 stories though...and yes I was around in the 70s. I'm not positive, but it was 2 stories before the remodel and rebrand to the Galleria. It will always be the Tyler Mall in my head. It also used to have a UA Cinema nearby with 4 screens (where the Barnes and Noble is now). I saw the original Star Wars movies there! I also remember Farrell's...had many a birthday party there. Love me some ice cream! I also purchased my first pieces of furniture at Robinson's-May. I'm a little shocked that Nordstrom left - I didn't know that. Cool video - gotta ask if you remember the arcade on the first floor near one of the entrances. Gold Mine or...something like that?

@@EricCProductions76 I reached out to my brother - he's a bit older. He said it was only one story for a long time and had a cool 70s 'flowy' design along the roof. I don't recall this at all. lol

I grew up in the IE and frequented Tyler Mall in my high school days (2010-2014), it was a blast, but NOWHERE as fun as this sounded.
The mall is still a functioning mall.
