Older sis immediately stops talking when her sister starts speaking. She asks big questions and listens to her sister’s response and you can sense that little sis really trusts her. May we all be so loving and encouraging with those young folks in our life ❤️

Idk, I really related to the younger sister, and it felt like the older sister was speaking in terms and concepts that don’t really resonate with the younger sister. This goes for all of us, I think the greater work in empathy and affection is not to just give it but to understand where the other person is coming from and care for them how they want to be cared for. The “you’re not a snack, you’re a whole meal” comment was uncomfortable...especially if that’s not what the younger sister cares about or for. Also, the emphasis on self-love and beauty, as if those are the end points/destination of our relationships with ourselves, makes it seem as though there’s only one way to feeling like we have become a whole person, and I think that’s a narrow view on identity and personal development normalized by internet culture that does more harm than good.

@@saltandpeppers8788 I agree. Layla seems more comfortable with the occasional tragedies and gray areas of life, and her sister doesn't understand that. She seems to want Layla to see the world as she does.

The older sister is so self-aware and is clearly a very important role model to the younger sister. I don't even have that wisdom and I'm 10 years older than she is. It serves the younger one well to be able to be open and honest with her, because the older ones embraces what she says with such intelligence, maturity, tenderness and empathy. What a precious relationship they have.

Having a sibling that genuinely encourages you to be the best version of yourself is irreplaceable. I hope they realize they have a treasure right in front of them and to cherish those moments ✨ I hope they take eachothers advice and never forget who they are.

as a muslim, i appreciated the conversation they had about questioning your faith and the effect of the people on religion. it was such an important topic to be discussed and i'm glad that they're comfortable enough to have that. Also, they have such a beautiful sister dyamic :') they're so cute

When the elder sister said “Never lose that softness” it was so beautiful, because when i started watching the video it was the first thing i noticed about Layla- she encompasses softness and poise. I too hope she always remains that way. Wishing them the best for the future.

Being born a muslim, I always considered myself on the spiritual side of it more than the religious part. My spirituality keeps me sane because it revolves around God only, rather then the religious part that includes people's opinions on how things should be.

Assalaamu Alaykum! I was raised in the Roman Catholic faith and I have had the same experience. I feel like just being a decent person is enough, because even if there was a clear definition of perfection, I don't think anyone could possibly achieve that status. So, I just pray for others and treat everyone with kindness and respect.

A simple reminder to everyone: Be kind to one another. You don't know the person you're judging and you have no idea what their relationship with God is like. It's easy to point finger rather than look in a mirror.

These sisters are not snacks, or whole meals. They’re an entire in&out franchise.

i cried, like a lot. its not even normal, but It touched my soul.

As someone who grew up a Christian child around children of other faiths or none.. I def could relate to feeling like I can’t ask questions or I’d be a “bad seed.”

It's a very relatable feeling. I was told as a kid that it was good and normal to question stuff about your faith, but if I found myself having doubts about faith or criticizing aspects of it, that was deemed not good and not normal. It was fine to have questions as long as you didn't think about them too hard, or your answers led you back to religion.

This was such a needed discussion. I really related to a lot of what was said. Thank you for an open and honest conversation. ❤️

They are both beautiful people, but the sister in pink (Layla) is actually really strong. She’s not hardened, not covering up her pain. She has stayed sensitive and honest. You’d be able to really trust her as a real friend. It’s nice that Yasmine is very self aware and appreciates these things about her sister.

This is what I experience in the Christian faith. People who may be reasonable like Yasmine or the complete opposite either way they wont answer your questions. I've talked to Imams and Pastors as well but no. My conclusion is you have to find your own answer don't expect it from your parents friends religious influencers or leaders.

I believe that the older sister is talking to her young self and is giving advise to herself at that (or an younger) age, and is (successfully) trying to be a role model for her younger sister.

I relate SO much to the revenge suicide idea (from when I was much younger) Until... *DISCLAIMER - trigger warning for graphic film descriptions* ...I watched 2 movies about bullying where 1. This group beat a student almost to death to the point where he had severe brain damage and had to learn to read and walk all over again and was never the same and some of the people from the group said “you should have just died” Like they basically made fun of him instead of felt remorse. 2. A girl was bullied and did attempt suicide and when she recovered, her bullies said something to the effect of “you couldn’t even do that right.” Those movies completely changed me because I realized some people are just cruel and heartless and actually feel like victors when they see their victims and/or their families suffer. Sick sick world we live in.

The younger sister is very wise, smart and collected. She doesn't know it but it shines through her. The older sister - she should learn to soften down her energy.

LGBT Muslims should not experience the judgement and ridicule that they still must experience. LGBT Muslims need to become MUCH more angry and insistent, but I think most feel that it's just not worth the emotional effort and pain. So they just leave the faith and that's a terrible loss for both the individual and the Ummah.

I never seen any muslim question their god? I don't know, why they think that questioning god is evil?
