Suzuki is slow on innovation and new features. Upside of this approach is reliability. They just work. Extremely easy to service. Engines are bulletproof. I like Kawasaki. Z800 is on my list of best looking bikes. But Suzuki gives best bang for buck! If you need a new toy and money is not an issue, other brands may have more to offer. If you need a reliable workhorse that doesn't cost arm and leg. Good for every day commute, and occasional weekend blast. Suzuki will not disappoint. Edit: You did not mention Intruder/ Boulevard 1800. Legendary beast.

Back in my day, Suzuki was at the leading edge of innovation. Every other brand struggled trying to play catch up, but as soon as they got close, suzuki would drop another nuke on them and send them all back to the drawing bards. Gawd those were fun times.

That's exactly the reason I got a 650 Vstrom to commute on. Rain or shine, sun or snow it'll start everytime and be super easy to take care off. It'll get me exactly where i need to go with no fuss. For me, as someone who uses a bike as a main vehicle and not a toy that's the most important thing.

I've owned and ridden both brands. I recently sold my Kawasaki vaquero and bought the gsxs 1000gt. Im really not sure how else to explain this but there's a less refined rawness to Suzuki that keeps me coming back to the brand. Kawasaki is so refined and smooth now that for me it loses that little something that gets me as excited.

I'm unashamedly a Kawi guy because of how approachable and "boring" they are to ride but how aggressive they LOOK. I don't want to die tomorrow, and I mostly commute with my bike so I want the bike to be tame to ride. But I want it to LOOK aggressive as hell, and still be CAPABLE of aggressive riding. That's basically what a Kawi is. They ain't the sharpest handling, fastest, or most thrilling to ride sportbikes in the world. But they also aren't as mundane as Hondas; they sort of part the line between a GSX-R and a CBR Suzuki too harsh, Honda too soft. Yamaha and Kawi are juuuuuuuuuust right, with the Kawi being more aggressively styled and the Yamaha being more classically sporty.

I have a ‘21 Z900, that bike is very boring if you keep it stock😅 i’ve put a full titanium exhaust and ecu flash on it, and it’s truly a beast! Kawasaki’s need to be opened up, and people say that the MT09 is way more fun to ride, it looks 8x uglier than the kawi.

I have owned sport bikes from both brands. Kawasaki is definitely leading the pack in the present and has many phenomenal and benchmark bikes with great tech and power at the best prices. Suzuki is no joke but they became the king in the mid 2000s and never evolved. The gsxr 750 still stands alone and is a shining example of what Suzuki is capable of which I own after trading in my Kawasaki. Even as I think of my next bike I would go R1 or panigale before h2

For every shiny turnkey toy Kawi has, Suzuki has a thing that has a kit that can turn that thing into a better version of that shiny turnkey toy. Or you can leave that something as is and have your grandchildren bopping around on it. Kawasaki sells solutions, Suzuki sells canvases. Another major minus for Kawi on my book is that nobody seems to even bother with a paintjob for the kawis. Just... Take a look at your H2 Yams. Black panels on green frame. That's the H2 colors, I get it. It's a good combination, and on the bike it's iconic, but after literally seven years of this bike being out on the market I have yet to see even ONE H2 with any other color than black panels on green frame. We have Busas in every combination of colors known to man. Heck, yours look like a giant Duracell battery. And yet the H2 is just black on green. At this point that shit is downright drab. Once you got your H2 to be turnkey, Yammie, I want you to paint it. Just fucking paint it. Paint it literally any other colorway than black on green. Please.

I'm 43 and my first bike was a used RG gamma 50cc in 1996. Not going to bore anyone with stories and give mention to all the bikes I've owned both onroad and offroad and which ones did me good but on a whole: Suzuki is most bulletproof, easiest to work on and so any Hooligan loves them. 🐙 P.S. Alot of honest mechanics in my country will not even take your money for valve clearance checks on a Suzuki. They always seem to be in spec and legend has it they can run on baby oil😂😂😂

I like simple bikes. Suzuki wins for me. If I had to pick one manufacturer it would be tough to not go with Suzuki, you can still get a brand new dr650 that will probably function for 30 years. An SV650 is a great bike for almost anything the DR wouldn’t do well.

Suzuki also made the GSX-S1100S Katana & TL1000R, bikes almost 2 decades apart but tried equally as hard as they could to kill the rider. They've also spent the last 20+ years with GM, then VW & now Toyota being part owners in the business, so that may explain something. I have fond early 90's memories of watching the MotoGP at ridiculous hours with a few mates then squidding our RG250's & RGV250's through the suburbs of Sydney until 3:00 am. When I decided I wanted a 650 twin in '06 though I had a choice of the 7 year old SV650 or a brand new 650cc twin from Kawasaki, and the Kawasaki had an option with a full fairing. Needless to say I bought the shiny new Kawasaki & it's still in my stable.

I think the big benefit to Suzuki on a day-to-day they're slightly easier to live with. For the most part they just work well at what they are designed to do for a good price. The Kawasaki are typically more expensive and they either are better or worse but typically always more expensive.

As I grew up as a Gixxer Lover Squid I always will love every bike Suzuki makes. Almost. But I gotta admit Kawasaki's Z are just everywhere, and for a reason. It doesnt' matter if it is the ol carburated 750 or the newest 600. You can see them from city commuters to track adrenaline junkies. And they are pretty good for what they are worth so... I don't know between those two... Just go to your Yamaha dealership and get that ol R6 with no TC or ABS for 7 grand and let's go poppin some wheelies, I guess. You'll never fail with that one. Just kiddin ride safe.
