    I have a small gym in my 2nd bedroom, 8x12 room. I bought the 5 foot Cap Olympic bar so I could bench and use it on my Viking press. I've had it for about 3 yrs now, zero issues. When I got back into heavier bench (over 300 lbs) I did pick up the Cap Beast bar. Highly recommended. I still use the 5 ft bar for floor presses and overhead presses with the viking bar. The only reason I needed a longer bar for bench wasn't just the weight but more the length. I have a 55 inch chest so my grip is wider. But when I stop lifting heavy I can see sticking to the 5 ft bar.

    I have a 6x10 room, I use the 47in barbell, I going to try the 5 FT bar lets see how that goes. I do not power lift, I think the 47in is fine.

    I bought this bar based on this video and it’s amazing. I have an Oppsdecor 7in1 Olympic weight bench (check that out if you’re looking for a bench with a lot of versatility) in my bedroom because I don’t have the space for a proper home gym. I had a 7ft bar, and it worked ok, but it really limited what I could do and I was always worried about hitting something. On top of that it was too long to put on a holder so I had to leave it up on my rack, which I didn’t like doing because I have 2 cats that sleep with me at night. I was always worried that they’d (somehow) accidentally knock it down. This bar works sooooo much better. It’s maneuverable, not too long, and fits on my barbell holder, plus the sleeves are plenty long for me. Thank you sooooo much!!!!!!!!

    And I also like your comment about the lighter weight being better than the 40-lb 7-ft bar to prevent grip strength burn out. That’s brilliant!

    Just what I needed to see. Figured this would be a good barbell to buy lunges and hip thrusts. My question is... are you likely to smack your elbows on the weight plates? If I gotta clean it to get to get into my lunges I kinda want to know before dropping money on it.

    Nope the only time that can be an issue is if you're doing an upright row with a bumper plate or a plate the size of a 45lbs plate.

    You know of any good bench press racks that would work with 5ft barbell? Or should I get a 7ft

  • @UsawaFitness

    @UsawaFitness

    9 ай бұрын

    I don't have a bench to suggest but I personally would lean towards a 7ft barbell is I were going to bench with it. I can rack my 5ft on my cage but it barely fits and I feel like you're going to have to work to rack your weights at the end of your set.

    I have the oppsdecor 7 in one weight bench and the 5 ft works with it bcs it’s meant for a smaller space. Upside is that it folds up too. I have mine inside my bedroom, and it stands against the wal except for when I’m using it. It works really well, but I’m a 15 yro 5’7” female. Idk if that would work well for you. My shoulders are large for a woman, but I’m still not a man whatsoever lol 😂

    @@UsawaFitness It’s really good if you don’t have a lot of space. I just kinda got lucky bcs when I was looking for a bench it popped up on sale for 180 instead of 350. I couldn’t have afforded it without that lol. But yes, it is an amazing setup and I don’t know why more people don’t buy it or promote it. The weight capacity is a little low at 660, but for a beginner it works great. It has a preacher curl bench, leg extensions, chest extension, bench press, and squat rack. On top of that the bench is adjustable to be incline or decline, and the squat rack part uses the same adjustable holders for the bench press, so it works in a small space. Then when I’m done with the weightlifting part of my workout, I can fold it up (which takes me like 2 or 3 minutes) and do other exercises unhindered because it takes up no space at all. I honestly love it.
