My mom knew a killer, seeing as he came in with a (if I remember correctly) semi-regular / regular customer. Since she works for a loan company, she has to be behind bullet proof glass, so it was never where he can reach out and hurt her unless he tried to shoot her under the slot thing. Anyways, when I was visiting for winter holidays, she got a call from a co worker explaining that the girl who brought the guy in was killed by him. I was sitting next to her when she got this call. Even though I never knew them, it felt so surreal knowing that someone you know knows and has met a killer before they killed. It was crazy. I feel so bad for the woman's family and that they had to deal with that.

Unfortunately, I do know someone that has killed someone. I went to elementary and middle school with someone that was convicted of murdering a 14 year old girl behind a Pizza Hut in 2000. The guy was sentenced to life in prison. Now the guy was a bully and he had a bad home life; but I never expected him to be a murderer.

Not a murder, but a friend of mine hit and killed a pedestrian at night. The woman she hit was wearing dark clothing and had a habit of walking in the road. My friend was met by another car at that moment and was blinded by the headlights. The family was very understanding and told my friend it was not her fault. This was back in the 90s, I'm sure today the victim would have been in a group home and not allowed to walk alone at night down the road without a light and reflective gear.

My father hit a pedestrian on a bike a few weeks ago. Guy was wearing all black and even though my dad had the right of way, the guy pulled his bicycle out in oncoming traffic. Luckily the guy lived but my poor dad is still shaken. The police said apparently the guy is a con artist who likes to try and pull schemes like that on people and black mail them for money. Idiot had to go to the hospital for real this time though so hopefully he'll learn his lesson.

A friend of mine was involved in a road traffic collision in which a man lost his life. My friend was driving at 20mph (speed limit 30mph) and a drunk guy who didn't want to wait for cars to pass decided to walk out straight in front of my friend's car. His head hit the car and he suffered a fatal injury. My friend was not arrested nor did he have to attend court for a trial but that will live with him forever. The ones I feel sorry for are his wife and children left behind. Having to tell your children their dad isn't coming home must be the hardest conversation in the world. When they are old enough to look up details of the incident themselves they will no doubt have to read that their dad died because he was acting like a drunken fool. Very tragic for all involved. The man was a local football coach and a well-respected member of the community too. Although I never knew the man I think about him and his family from time to time

I didn't know him personally, but a guy from my senior class back in high school accidentally shot his cousin (also a student) when they were screwing around with another relative's gun in their house. My friend lived in the same neighborhood as them and he said he heard the gunshot and police cars showing up less than 5 minutes later. If I recall correctly the guy didn't serve time because the police deemed it to be a tragic accident, but honestly I kind of feel bad knowing he's going to have to carry that weight in the back of his mind for the rest of his life. That story is why as a gun enthusiast cannot emphasize gun safety enough, I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate as their family because they didn't think it was that dangerous to play with a gun.

I don't know all the details but... My grandpa killed his neighbor, he got caught the day after. My mom was only 2 at the time. He got released and then got sick, he ended up in the hospital. He passed away from having too much water in his lungs. I always wanted to meet him, I just wanted to have a conversation with my grandpa but I was too late. My friends always refer to him as my "murderer grandpa" and it hurts. Anyways, bye.

Maybe, there's a 50/50 chance the lady who used to live across the street poisoned her husband, I won't get into the details too much but the guy was old and died of heart failure so the meds didn't go too much into it and she rushed to have him cremated, the old guy couldn't walk and she was stuck taking care of him because she wanted his stuff when he passed but that ended up taking many years, He had left her the house and his son from his first marriage a plot of land, she talked him into selling the land back when he was on some meds and she inherited his money, then she sold the house and everything in it to the guy's son, then she took everything in the house and skipped town Even if she didn't kill him she's still a bitch Edit: made it more easy to read

I managed a popular and well known rent to own chain in a city in Texas. I had m, credit/collections lead get me to drop him off Friday nite at his home where he lived with his mom, as I often did on Friday's after our day was wrapped up. Let me say that I was shocked. He went inside after dropped him off and per what he told me in a letter from prison, she, the mother, began to belittle and talk shit to him, being insulting etc etc as was my understanding she often did no matter who heard , all before both feet were inside and over the threshold . He said he had enough and snapped. So happens there was an aluminum bat resting on wall by door so he used it to beat her beyond recognition and murder her. She was petite. The detective told me about the condition of he'd body. This guy, let's call him Santiago, was very soft spoken, polite and sweet. He would be sure to be respectful around any of us women at work and especially his girlfriend who had a little girl that , from what I saw and knew, he absolutely was I. Love and adored them. Mom didn't deserve it. He should have worded on moving away to avoid her but he struggled with addiction and I did too so I understand that. Crazy. He received life no parole.

A kid brough a few guns to school. He told me of the plan to kill the teachers he hated and a few bullies he hated. He even made a diary describing the plan. He asked me if I wanted to help him as he naunchalantky pointed 1 of the guns at me, at school recess, on the day he chose to put it into real action. I said sure why not. I was scared to death thinking if I said no I'd be #1 victim of the day. He said ok lets do this and handed me the other gun. As he walked toward the school, from the recess yard I shot him in the head, dropped the gun and ran to the 1st teacher I seen. In the end they eventually got the diary of the plan along with crazy drawings/notes he made about this fantasy. He survived but was messed up bad. He lost an ear, big piece of his head etc...He admitted I was not part of it once he could talk. I was 12 he was 13 at the time. This was many, many years ago. He ended up in a mental institution for alot of years and the family moved away shortly after. Not sure what happened to him after or if he got out as an adult. One good thing no one ever messed with me thinking I might be crazy too lol. I can still taste and smell the gunfire of that day and loud noises sometimes bring me back to that moment to this day. I saved several lives that day he was 💯 going to kill as many teachers/kids as he had planned on his list. They made me go to counciling after to make sure I was ok and I was for the most part. I didnt do it out of desire or malice I did it because of fear he'd shoot me if I said no. Some nutty kids nick named me "shooter" but I really didnt care for it just laughed it off. Anyway that's my story. Funny thing is that was the 1st and last time I ever shot a gun. After that I never really had any want to own or use one again. I've posted this on other Reddit chats because I'm not the only one who had a not too normal event as a kid.

One of their sons attacked my dad and forced him into a fist fight and when the guy’s father came out of the house to see what the noise was he started cheering his son on instead of putting a stop to it. My dad broke the kid’s nose and made him cry. About twenty years later the kid killed his wife, needless to say my dad wasn’t surprised, he said the whole family was pretty violent.

Yes! My aunts ex husband is wanted for a cold case murder from the 70s when he was in high school. He killed a farmer and welded his body inside a milk barrel. He was a totally normal guy to the public, then him and my aunt got into a fight and he tried to strangle her and told her that if he killed her he could hide her body where no one would find it. Well, my aunt worked for the county sheriff's office and she was immediately put into hiding, only a handful of people knew where she was and my ex uncle was under investigation and fled and I don't think he's been found yet...

A good friend. Went to school with him, worked with him. He was divorced, but they were still living in the same house. He stopped by my house one night as we were out looking for him. He then went home and shot his ex once in the head, then his best friend sitting on the couch. After shooting them, he made sure with a large knife. Then left again. One of the neighbors heard the shots, saw him walk out covered in blood, called the police. We arrived at the same time as the police, looking for our friend. He took a deal, got 13 years (yeah). Last I heard he was dead. Don't know, don't care.

I was bullied a lot in middle school by a good portion of kids I went to class with, But Sophomore year of high school I found out one of those jerks killed another one of those jerks and I was pretty pleased with the results (the stupid teacher was upset though, cause I I hadn’t know who he was talking about at first, and than by the fact I felt no remorse for bullies)

A girl I train MMA and SW with is going on trial for an attempted murder last autumn (16 at the time). She stabbed him twice in the throat but he somehow ended up surviving. She's lot's of fun and I really like her so I'm hoping she'll get out of jail pretty quickly and considering her age it seems pretty likely

Valerie Lynn There are murderers that would protect their friends and family fiercely. I’m implying that knowing a murderer doesn’t always mean that you know someone who is a complete monster.

When I was in my addict days I had to take a little “vacation” for the month of May in Cook County jail. When you have to go to court they put you on the bus depending where you have to go. Mine was Maywood. In the bullpen I was sat next to a guy in there for double murder. Another dude for not registering as a convicted murderer. And on the bus those two guys were intimidating a guy who with his baby mother killed their 1 yr old bc he wouldn’t stop crying. Then dumped the baby’s body in the Des Plaines river. This was back in 2013. You can look it up.
