I've acted in two short films this year and am acting in a feature film next month (Through Backstage) and last year was in a few small projects. I got these jobs cause I worked hard, practiced, self schooled myself and online courses, did hands on stuff, and every time I do a movie it affirms that I LOVE doing this business. =) This video is NOT lying, it's the truth.

Acting is my Dream. It’s all I’ve ever really wanted. It’s like, how Jessie describes it in glee: “a dream is something that eats up the darkness inside you. Something that, you knew, if came true, would make you feel complete.” That’s how I feel about becoming an actress. I’m willing to put in the work. As much as it takes. I have a POV tiktok account that allows me to practice, as well as access to videos like these, and, though I may only be 12, I think that, someday, possibly in the bearing years, I could make my dreams come true. I think I have what it takes. I know that the word I will hear more than ever is no, and that it will take A LOT of work, but I’m up for it

stop being afraid you’ll never make it if you hold onto that fear of not making it that is what acting is all about the possibily of not making it a lot of times but not giving up because of it, and agents are free you don’t need to worry about buying an agent to start you off just look for the right type of agent that works for you and see if their willing to help you regardless if you don’t book a part or not

Thank you so much, I honestly haven't been honing my craft. I constantly question if acting is something I want to do, I feel certain emotions that yell at me to express myself in a performance to let go of this emotion, yet... I don't know if acting is something I want to do. So, thank you for this reminder to remind myself that I need time to think about this. Tomorrow, I should practice, give it all I got... forget about being embararessed, forget about not sounding correct, I should just purely give practicing a shot. In this way, I feel, I will truly understand if I fully appreciate the craft or not. Wish me luck.

I’m 12 & I’ve been acting since I was 10, during quarantine I’ve been watching a lot of movies and memorising lines & acting out the scenes. I’ve been watching a lot of acting videos on KZread, I saw one about how the best actors are ones that don’t really act, idk if that’s true tho. I’ve just signed up for a class for acting after quarantine, the first of many. So far in quarantine I’ve practiced fake crying, American accent, English accent, Australian accent & facial expressions. I’ve been looking for acting jobs on sites like, famestreet, backstage & places like that. I found auditions on famestreet but I’m not sure if the site is trustworthy.

The problem is that I live abroad and I'd rather move to US to find more opportunities but also make some experience out of it, but I'm afraid it may affect my relationships here (family, friends, boyfriend..ecc). I want to do it no matter what but at the same I'm kind of worried. How would deal with that? Also, great channel keep doing this it's pretty darn helpful❤️

Those are all very important decisions to make/consider and nothing should be decided too quickly. One of the biggest problems I see actors make, is that they decide to move out to the states or anywhere else for that matter before they are ready. Take your time and don’t rush it. No matter how much you love something it should NEVER become more important than your family, your health, or your livelihood. Your life shouldn’t revolve around acting, but rather acting should revolve around your life. Trust me, it’s far more peaceful that way. Do note, that the US is not the only place to become an actor, there are many other film industries out there and I’d probably suggest having your way at one closer to home (especially at first). I’d check out this video I made awhile back 👍🏼 kzread.info/dash/bejne/qXWirZSyeZzHe6Q.html In the end it will have to be your decision, but do consider what I’ve mentioned above. Hope this helps 👍🏼

I've chosen to go back to acting simply because I love it so much 🥰 I feel so in my element when I'm doing it I used to do theatre and recently became an extra on a short movie I loved it! The waiting around was tedious but the repeated takes gave me a lot of exercise 😂 I don't mind if I don't make it most of the roles I'm going for are unpaid but I'm ok with that I'm currently practising everyday for an audition (just waiting on the confirmed date and time) so I can get fully into character with ease Anyone who thinks acting is easy has clearly never worked in a real acting project Its tough but its worth it

I wouldn't recommend to have a fall back unless you really want to but if you are whole heartedly committed to acting you would rather fall forward than fall back. Because once you see you haven't been doing great the past couple of months you'll start thinking like I can just quit acting and go back to my fall back career. It's just my honest opinion I don't understand your circumstances in the end it is still your decision. I just hope you will keep this in mind.🙏

I need some advice guys. So, I live about 5-6 hours away from LA (by car) and I am currently going into my junior year of high school. I have never taken a drama class in school and at this point, it doesn't seem smart to take one so late into high school; however, I desperately want to try acting. Locally, there doesn't seem to be any good out of school acting classes available. I need advice on what I should do when I graduate from high school. I had an idea that in the summer after senior year, I would work to save up money then move to LA and take a year-long acting class there. I would stay only for a year at first to see if I even liked acting and to appease my parents who likely would be scared if I put all my eggs into one basket so quickly. If I liked acting I would stay and become an actor, If I didn't then I would go back home and unfortunately do something else. I was wondering if anyone had any better advice they could give me. Should I stay home, go to community college for a year or two, and take acting classes at the community college? Should I stay home, center all of my attention to acting, and take one of the local acting classes even if they don't have the best reviews? Any advice would help.

I know that if you are from Europe and you wanna move to LA you have to first be famous in your own country, but i wanna live abroad. Do you think this is a good plan to aspiring getting famous? Or is it better to start in Italy, becoming "somebody" here and then moving to LA?

I really want to try acting because I am really passionate about the subject, but I haven't found any acting academy or acting class in my area. I think that with practice I could actually be good. But I have a problem. Even if I practiced or took classes in the next few years I wouldnt be able to make it as an actress since I live in a small country with no opportunities at all. It's really hard to find auditions here. There aren't any movies for teens to audition for here, and in fact there are very few productions at all. I wanna see if it's really what I want to do so that I know what to do later on. Any tips for foreigners with no acting experience and no opportunities? Thanks

I really love to act and I know I love to do it because I'm really committed and Now I act without really not knowing it. My mom really Courage's me and I'm very happy with it. Like I said I really love to act and I put at least 3-5 hours a day but like I said I act without knowing it. And something that helps it act like you have a Camera and that makes you ackore mature like keep a video camera and like record yourself and you'll see that you look more mature and just be yourself and I bet it will all work out in the future😘

Hey, I've been following your work for months now. I'm a business economy student from Serbia, Europe. My goal is to become an actor. That's why I want to start some business first, in order to have some passive income when I come to America. I'm going to acting classes here for now. Would you mind telling me where I can contact you, so I can ask you a few questions? Thanks in advance, and keep posting videos, they're really helpful.

There have been many times where I’ve questioned whether I want to take on this profession but I now know this is Wht I want to do. I took a break because I needed to see if this is what I wanted to dedicate my time to and I was honestly so miserable lol. Acting is my passion and I realized if I wasn’t acting I’d be lost since this is something I’ve wanted to do forever.

One thing I would say is I’m quite under confident - would you say this is a big issue? If so how can I work in building my self confidence? Thank you for this video!

Hey Molly, yes confidence is very important for the actor. It allows you to be confident in yourself to do better work and have more meaningful interactions with casting directors. When we are nervous or scared we tend to put up a wall (whether we realize it or not) and it can effect our work/interactions. The best way to get over fear is to face it. Nobody likes this answer, but the more we let fear control our lives the stronger our insecurities tend to grow. This is why I tell actors when they are in an acting class situations, to participate in everything they can. If they need a volunteer, always put your hand. If you’re nervous to talk to someone than talk to that person. Facing the little fears in our lives makes us stronger. Now of course don’t do anything dumb, but facing reasonable fears makes you more confident. Hope this helps 👍🏼

It all depends on the individual, but having representation after college can be a helpful big step forward. You just have to make sure that when you seek out representation that you are actually ready to have them (you’re comfortable in your skill set, committed to acting, feel confident enough to audition, etc.) Hope this helps 👍🏼

  • @TheActorsAcademy

    @TheActorsAcademy

    4 жыл бұрын

Managers and agents work off of a commission basis. Which means if you don’t book, they don’t get paid. This gives them incentive to want to book you and for you to keep working hard. Agents/managers have the ability to potentially get you seen for bigger projects that you can’t get on your own, but I’d only seek representation once you feel you are ready and willing to commit much of your time to acting (with practicing/classes/keeping info current with headshots etc.) in the long run you will want an agent/manager, it will be hard to make it successfully without one. Not impossible, but very hard.
