My "fun" has changed since quitting alcohol a couple years ago. I appreciate simpler things in life more than when I was drinking. So when Friday night rolls around I like to kick back and unwind. If I do happen to go somewhere after work with others that are drinking I usually leave before them then go home and unwind. I love my sober life. 😊

Awesome video, Leon! Drinking provides fake fun for a couple of hours, numbs you, blurs your mind and vision, makes you do stupid things, depressed, aggressive and leaves you with a fat bill to pay as well as a number of side effects. While being lured into the idea of having fun for some hours. Don’t fool yourself, start living!👋

Best response and 💯. Amazing how we're tricked into thinking this is fun.

Today in Germany on the first of May it is a cult to walk with your boys and a handcart to a nearby festival and drink a lot. I had a relaxed day and got through it. 🎉

In Finland Tuesday was Labour Day’s eve and this is an excuse to drink alcohol (and get wasted) for many. Also on Labour Day/1st of May people goes to a morning brunch to drink alcohol to ”celebrate” Labour Day since it’s a public holiday in Finland. I was on a 23h Turku🇫🇮-Stockholm🇸🇪 cruise and enjoyed the cruise and entertainment on the ship without alcohol (the ship is practically a floating bar).

@@milhindor Very clever solution. I think that right now, when I am still at the beginning, I need to keep a long distance from alcohol

Lost all my friends to drinking . People won’t go out with me . I said fuck it , slowly been getting off drinking , now collaborating with my favorite artist and going to Thailand next week. I wouldn’t have left them when they were in the dumps. Appreciate the videos

I admit I still see the appeal of nightlife and pub life. I just wish it didn’t have to revolve around alcohol.

Very. It's also the same people, same conversation. It really mundane. Did it for years and you realize there's nothing else going on. It also is an environment that draws chaos. You soon see that aside from drinking you have little in common or shared interests.

This is INCORRECT. AA is not the only solution to quitting drinking ethanol. Its only one solution, and it doesn't work for everybody. AA didn't work for me. What does work is education, the kind of education Leon is giving us. Knowing at a deep level that ethanol is a highly addictive drug and poisonous to the human body is what prevents me drinking it. Thanks Leon for constantly reiterating this point. Ethanol, or alcohol if you like, is wonderful for killing bugs. We all constantly put it on our hands during the pandemic. Why?... because it kills bugs. Human beings are bugs too, just BIG bugs, and ethanol will kill us too, especially since we don't just put it on our hands but we drink it! INSANE. It takes a little longer to kill us because we are such BIG bugs, but it gets there in the end if we are patient. AA does not have this educational approach. It tells its members that they have a disease rather than telling them that ethanol will make an addict of anyone who drinks it for just a couple of months. Human blood simply loves ethanol.
