I'm all about the terps baby! When I first retired out of the military I first started watching you guys and learn quite a bit, one of the most important things I learned is when growing indoors, you are basically playing God and have to simulate the entire grow season from outdoors to indoors, and that helped a lot, especially when it came to the end of the grow and you hade to simulate the Fall season. That brought those turps and the Fall color in the leaves out. This shit is awesome guys, thank for the help through your channel.

temp and rh. fluctuation are what kills the terps. But first get your dry right . As soon as your bud gets to around 60% rh .vacuum seal it . Removing the air , removes the fluctuation and pauses the degrading process . I seal mine but not too much , sealed bud should still be a little spongy in the bag or you'll break your wrist or grinder ..lol This is something i have been testing for a few months , and it's been working fantastic. Testing the jar, and vac seal side by side , and in 2 months you see a big difference . ( FACESMACK )... It even works great with just a 24 hr seal and re-jar also works better than just jarring .

We flip flower at 12/12 but around week w4-5 we fo 11/13 and we never lose any yield and if they take 74 days they usually done in 62-65 days It seems to work. Same with my late starts outside I’ll put out a 8” seedlings in 3 gallon late June and they grow so vigorously till early mid august and start to flower. They always finished up by oct 20th. Some go earier

75 lights on 72 lights off to preserve more terpenes from weeks 7 til finish for 9-10weekers..Consistent dry backs is major and defoliating to let more light in will help you on quality tremendously as removing such leaves can allow the plant to fully push its energy directly towards better bud development/maturity and also producing more trichomes. This pertains to LED. You need to put the light close to your canopy and lower your humidity. This will help with coloring. People often mistaken that coldness is the only factor to pull out color by turning down the temps super low. You are in fact slowing down its growth by dropping too low of temps. If your plants ain't drinking, it ain't growing. What don't see light won't turn purple and this is a proven fact unless it genetically naturally turns. If you missed the color window for your strain if its capable, you've already missed it. Even if you get some coloring late into it and you're almost ready to harvest.. by the time you dry, and trim it, that purple is gonna disappear or it'll be purple specd

I like to lower the intensity of the lights towards the end of the Cycle and even pull back a few mins on the light cycle maybe 11 and 1/2 on 12 and 1/2 off. Can even go to a 11-13 . And yes you might be losing some overall weight but sometimes to gain something you have to lose something in exchange. Water stress is another good way to bring out the smell again sacrificing some weight in exchange. But I would always go for quality over quantity. Also I Keep my hands off the flowers at all times and never touch them. I know it’s tempting to squeeze them and smell them but it’s really damaging and that goes for trimming too.

Great vid, this is how I grew up being told how this process works. However, Came across a vid about 6months or so ago from perfect gardens covering this and ever since ive had MUCH better terps. I used to do everything in this vid, and would have varying results and not know why. Come to find out, Its enzymatic breakdown of the terps into other compounds which is facilitated by water / warmth. Which makes sense, some of the most volatile terps start to vape off at 160's. I do everything I can to PUMP terps during the first 4-5 weeks of flower. The last few weeks I view as 'its made what its goanna make, now its conversion time' where enzymes convert CBGa into CBD and THC. Too hot, too wet, all the terps get chewed up leaving you with a hay smell. Too cold, too dry, youll have a nice terpy bud but it will seem 'weak'. 1 week dry, with faster dry on the 1st half, slower of the second. Sealed in a jar for another week to make sure moisture is even throughout and really matures the smell. 3 cycles in with the new method / understanding and its changed the game for me.

Last 10 days(used to be 2 weeks but bills..😂) Target 50-55%rh I’ve hit high 40s with no negatives I could tell, but I’m sure there’s a few haha, and I target 60 degrees, my unit gets to 62/64 with my set up. During dry, strictly 60/60… LOW but constant air movement yet not cycled if can.. I’ll only exhaust the sealed dry room if humidity hits 62 until hits 58, then don’t have to run dehu or hu. Just AC and exhaust. Ac has over sped drying this way in past, so in warmer parts of year may need hu towards end of dry, USE RO! Unless you want hard water scale on your harvest haha it’s a BUMMER. During cure, 2 things have worked really well for me, mason jar with burping, or cold cure at 50/50 in fridge funny enough😂 jars are less consistent with my skills so far, but when that one works… craps on the cold cure. Think cultivar dependent and I haven’t nailed which types/profiles hold better through cure with what type of cure style yet but what I’ll be focusing over next few years. The dry and cure are everything so long as you actually have plant time to mature💯

Recharge is not meant to live in water that long, some to the microbes will multiply while others will die off throwing off the microbial balance of Recharge. If you would like to us it with your teas to improve microbial diversity, you may find better results brewing your tea and then adding Recharge just before watering with it.

Do dots come in an organic form? I'm reading russ Hudson's book now. My last boss at the cbd farm really got me curious about terpenoids and once you go down that route you start looking into other plants and the flavonoids and carotenoids. I'd like to become a processor but the only option so far in ohio schools are only for lab testing which I'm curious about as well but I feel like lab work would get boring after a while like a trimming position.

My best tips for producing high terp harvests: - organics! Specifically a good home made living organic soil with a full buffet of food in the soil for the plants and tons of micro life. The more diverse the micro life, the better for sure. Plants can express a much more full terpene profile in living organic soil. Even just using dry organic amendments in a store bought bagged soil (something like the roots organic uprising series) will produce better tasting and smelling plants than salt based nutrient in soil, at least for beginners. When growing organic, there’s no need to be perfect. You aren’t force feeding your plants what you think they need. You are feeding the soil microbes and then the plant tells the microbes what it wants/needs and the microbes provide it. It’s a symbiotic relationship. Also, if you are a fan of terpinator (I wouldn’t recommend it in an organic soil), just get yourself some potassium sulphate. That’s the “secret” ingredient in terpinator.

Hey scotty, you said you only grow with grow dots so my question is the back of the bag is saying up to 6 weeks of veg and 10 weeks of flower, so if its times released, and your not vegging for 6 week, how does that affect the flower part? I talked 2 a friend and that was the only problem he mentioned was that being a time released product...soo do you veg that long? And if i only wanted to veg for 4 weeks how does that affect the plant? Or have you had no issues no matter how short or long you veg obviously not exceeding the time of 6 weeks

Is it possible we have ot all wrong? That the 3 types of tricomb heads. There are ones with stalk and ball ontop maybe that had THC only. And maybe 1 of the other 2 tricombs are causing the smell and flavor. And of this is true then we should have easier signs to look for while breading. Just a friendly side thought science is always evolving.

I watched an amazing video the other day on KZread, I wish I could find it so I can mention the guys name. But he had an interesting theory on terps and when they evaporate. Based on what he says, the Temps have less to do with it based on the idea that boiling points for terps are way higher than we would ever get a tent and that it has more to do with consistency from the beginning which ensures the terps fully develop throughout the grow process. There was much more to it but interesting none the less. But it makes me wonder about the aspect of grow science vs. Bro science. Bruce Bugby the weed scientist doesn't have much on this topic either....kinda interesting.
