👉 Networking
This is more important than ever if you are in not so good colleges. Start sharing whatever you are learning on LinkedIn or Twitter. Start connecting with your alumnis and seniors. Take up the Daily 5 Challenge: Message 5 people on LinkedIn/Twitter, Call 5 people, and Email 5 People everyday. You'll find so many opportunities this way.
I've wrote a complete book on how to use LinkedIn effectively as a student that you can find on amazon and Flipkart.
👉 Programming
This isn't mandatory but I think everyone should at least have a basic understanding of how code works. You can take up Harvard CS50 course for this. After learning about some DSA basics, start exploring web development, android development, machine learning and see which one do you like the most. Always try to build some mini projects along the way.
You can get yourself ready for programs like GSoC, Microsoft Learn Ambassador, Outreachy, etc
👉 Side Hustles
This can be a great time to learning creative skills such as video editing, photo editing, UI/UX, and others. Once you learn the skill, start looking out for clients through cold mailing or LinkedIn. Have patience.
👉 Don't Do This!
Don't focus on making money fast as soon as possible in first year of college. For internships, the reality is most people won't take you seriously and you might get exploited and end up doing unpaid work. I remember working 8hrs/day as an intern for 5K/month in first year. I ended up quitting that work after a week.
Invest your time in learning skills as much as possible and then building a portfolio that reflects your learnings.
👉 Conclusion
Last night, I was doing a livestream on the discord server where people were asking me "how did I manage to do all that I did?" I understand you might be inspired by what people like me on youtube have been able to accomplish. The reality of how I achieved everything is by having a lot of sacrifices in the first and second year of college. I didn't go out with friends for movies or to the beach, I made fewer friends, I spent a lot of time on my laptop all by myself just exploring things and reading books, I didn't focus on acads much and got 6CGPA, I didn't celebrate much on occasions. Now when I look back, I think I could've chilled out a bit more. Doing what I did takes a lot of courage and might even be un healthy for most people. But I wanted it all bad enough, so I went all in.

Not sure who needs this, but please remember that it's completely ok to not follow "Roadmap" instructions in first year of college. While it's good to have role models, it's your own first year/life and there's absolutely no reason to convert it into a journey where you follow roadmap set by someone else. Just focus on studies to ensure a good gpa and enjoy the things you learn. Rest of the things will follow as and when required. :-)

You can definitely chill,as much as you want ,but with yourself.go to places by self,for eg solo trips.it brings a completely new perspective to life

I wish I knew this in my first year!! Nevertheless, Im grateful that I learned most of them when I finished my 2nd yr bds exam.. When the lockdown has been cursed to so many people, im blessed to earn 6 lakh since 2020 lockdown. Btw, great video!!!! keep it up!!!

I watched it till the end, and I tried/still trying to make money. What makes me keep learning is that to get earned I need to show it and prove it before I say the person that I can do it or I can do it better.

your roadmap is very intresting and its good to learn skills but what about the academics things if a student is only focusing on skills it will impact too.. i thing first a student have to focus on the environment of college and academic things coz this will impact on internal marks . so in my opinion first to be friendly to academics sessions and environment then start working on yourself coz college studies are tough not that much easy.
What b.sc student can do programming tier 3 college can help me in getting job

@@neerusaini6930 It is 10,000-20,000 rs. Per semester depending upon the college for BBA course. There are a total of 6 different colleges which offer BBA in Panjab University (Chandigarh).
