As a kid with ADD, I am SO glad they DID NOT have this technology. It was already a battle with my teacher thinking I was ' slow ' simply because I read in a mellow voice. It had nothing to do with my intellectual ability. I also DID daydream all of the time and had anxiety ALREADY about it any time the teacher would say "I'm only going to give these directions one time". The ONLY way I could see this being ok as a kid is using it to learn to focus ALONE at home. If I had to wear this at school and maybe some other kids didn't have to or I knew people were clocking my thoughts constantly , I just can't imagine the amount of stress and anxiety that would put on some kids.

The amount of shame you can take in from a school system in which, every SINGLE day, you are made to feel that you are not good enough, it's incredible. It can destroy you. We are social creatures, we tell ADD children everyday that they are not good enough for society. It doesn't matter how nice you are, how much you understand otheres, how creative you are, if you don't focus on this boring shit, you are going to be at the bottom rung. How many ADULTS could stand to sit for 8 hours a day and listen to lecture after lecture, everyday for years???? We expect children to just be okay with only being able to play for 15 minutes? For talking to adults they don't know that well, who move on from their life every year? To get along with tons of children from tons of different families? IT can happen, but at a huge cost. Just look at society, look at the hyper fixation on money, the fear and paranoia, the class systems. School is so far behind the curve of human development it's astonishing.

11:41 this could be coupled with a transmitter that tells the boss’s computer when you aren’t concentrating. They could then pay less or not at all for times on the clock but off peak performance. It might also be used to pick whom to fire because they aren’t “giving 100%”. Don’t want to wear the device? I could not be more against this. There are so many ethical issues and opportunities for abuse. Some governments will use this to track whether or not people are listening to propaganda embedded in lectures and note who is paying attention and who is not. They could track who is actually focusing on work and who is slacking off and getting sleepy or daydreaming. We should not be naïve about these things. It may be presented a evaluating a "learning process", which sounds innocent, but might just be another way of saying measuring the success of indoctrination or brainwashing techniques. China has a history of human rights violations and surveils their citizens through public facial recognition systems and things like social credit scoring. I would think twice before believing the use of this system is meant to do anything other than control people based on the ability of an authority to read a person's responses to indoctrination and propaganda. If you know who is listening and who isn't, you can treat them accordingly. Those not listen may suffer consequences and/or lose opportunities for advancement.

I have used EEG a few times due to epilepsy checkup. Any of those sensors off place will get a bad reading. Perhaps it's vastly different with this device, but I would rather see an improvement in the hospital field when it comes to neuro technology than some sort of surveillance idea in school. Although sure, this could have some benefits, but I can also see some bullying come out of it. I don't think school will adapt to fit the students' needs, but more likely complain and call them out for not fitting the mold. This could put incredible stress on the child, too. If a school goes this far for their students, then they better follow up to help any students who struggle too. I have strong doubts at this point. But usually the biggest problem kids can't concentrate is due to bad teaching or unsuited teaching. Instead of spending money on fancy devices, get better/more teachers.

Cool Video. I think there is a general problem that has not been solved which all of the portable devices encounter. As soon as you move around, the recordings are getting very noisy. Additionally, some applications may actually predict the state from the noise (e.g. often attention changes how you move your eyes and eye movements are very visible on the EEG) instead of the actual brain activity.

  • @CodyRallMD

These headbands simply can't measure what they need them to to make any of these claims. With 2-4 forehead based channels, the signal noise ratio is so bad that you can't measure actual brain activity properly, it just provides a correlation with muscle activity which correlates with state of mind. With that mild correlation, people's minds fill in the blanks and think it's reporting brain activity. You read/focus, you furrow your brow more. You relax/close your eyes, it relaxes more, that's what the makes the numbers go up and down. You can have all the best algorithms but bad data is bad data. Without many more channels to interpolate and extrapolate bad channels, these are just junk. I use these cheap headsets for student projects to teach them about bad channels and noise but we rarely use them for actual brainwave measurement. Enjoyed your video! Ridiculous and terrible how they make false claims and then punish students based upon a lousy product! Poor kids!

Ain't that the truth 💯🤣🤣🤣 all those in which created these advancing technologies should first be testing them on politicians and those in a campaign running for an office in which any form of governing is part of their job duties as would be interesting to hear, see or tell what's really going on in their minds as they feed us the BS out their lying a$$ mouths 🤣, Teachers also before students as be nice to know first if they are focused on their job at teaching the students as if student not focused can be due to the teachers failure of their job not the students for starters, Police are another should test before the masses as then WE THE PEOPLE who which technically are their employers and ones who write their paychecks could then monitor their technically employees and hold them accountable for wasting our money and who abuses their power in which we give to as a privilege not a right as like our rights and ensure they properly protect and SERVE us their employer giving respect to their community of bosses not the other way around like is currently. Not saying, just saying there is a lot of good potential that all this tech can give but, if paying attention can already see from the reason of creation it is for the opposite and more ways to control, alter, and dumb down the masses while they continue and improve tailored marketing and theft of the funds in which paid you for working for them using that illusion of "Money" as a necessity when it's just another tool of oppression if you look and study the creators and their true intentions ⁴ sad but very true as absolute power corrupts absolutely 🤯

I think it's very important that children be raised carefully and with care. I also believe it is important that youth understand that adults are watching them. In a school setting, i feel these technologies could help sort the students by preformance and guide the students focus and attention which should also help them become aware of their own focus. This last detail may be the most important for individuals to be aware of themselves.

A truly ground-breaking collaboration between Harvard University and the CCP / PLA. Gives reason to question the possible result of training Ai to correlate thought patterns of voice, facial and contextual ques an it's ability to draw conclusions from them, and then develop responses to create hypnotic states and then insert pre and post hypnotic suggestions and influence emotions and thoughts as a master mentalist/hypnotist might? Having worked closely with a master hypnotist and mentalist, and having spent time in the CCP, and having had friend in the PLA and ClA, I suspect it's reasonable to expect the CCP, PLA, ClA, Militaries, Big Tech and Big Education are doing research along those lines of Ai controlled hypnosis and mass mind control that should be a matter of public concern.

It would go deep as to make you a nature robot which means they will know your memory as see in your memory as it does match what they want and not what the individual wants the memory is against them which sees your thinking and your memory, which thinking is connected to memory after all, when you think, you think word, when you think, you think picture as words by words that group together as the picture, so there is two memory, the word and picture, so can see the picture as memory so will stop you so will train your brain to follow them, then eventually without the device you become nature robot to follow exactly with no mistake so it can train you to become robot so remove your thinking process and your emotion process, or you can think as long as you think align to them, so there is different level how deep the attend it will go by using the device so for sure it will be same as reading your diary. The masses will adopt things and those things will be used to exploit, its how it goes. It gets bad when those of us that understand this and choose not to take part are forced to, because the tech becomes an integral part of society, because the herd are ignorant, stupid, and dont ponder the implications of what they're jumping aboard. We need people in positions of influence to see these things before the herd and speak up, spell it out, influence.
