    Another great video, thanks. If you could in the future explain cable sizing that is something I struggle with, like how you chose 2AWG cabling.. I don't know what I'm doing but when I look at ampacity charts on line 2awg is good for about 130 amps. With 200amps of battery wouldn't you need bigger cables going in to the inverter?

    As heat rises, I would think you’d want the fans blowing up For proper cooling. IAW the manual, the arrows seem to indicate, the exhaust is on the 12v end of the inverter. SO you would want the 12v end up and 120AC end down.

    Very well-done video. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. I just purchased the inverter you reviewed. Do you know where I can purchase the remote display that goes with this inverter? I think the earlier models of this inverter came with the remote display. Maybe a display is not included because it has Bluetooth, but I would like one.

    Very good video brother but it will be more beautiful and more informative if you show inside of the inverter heardwear and the most important test is short-circuit test and overload test of induction load on running inverter i mean inverter if in on condition the. We connect the freezer or Aircon that rested 500watt so if that inverter can handle the surge then definitely its winner 🏆 Thank you very much and best regards from Philippines 🇵🇭

    Dave, in my experience, I found that the 3000w Renogy inverter almost never needs to use the cooling fans. I can't say that for my 2000w inverter. If the noise is a consideration, I'd go 3000w, unless your current draws are typically low. I'm in a motorhome and the fan noise would bother me. Good luck, which ever way you go - Hal

    The nominal voltage in the US is 120v. You should not use any other voltage. Many people use the term ‘110’ but that is just a generic term. The US hasn’t used 110vac in many years.

    Loud fans, or maybe just sounds that way from you mic pickup. But, for many loads the fans won't run at all. Would have been nice if you could have shown how much continuous load was possible before the fans turn on. I like that there is an Over discharge voltage cutoff and an Over-discharge return voltage, both which can be set within the app. So the output ports will turn off when the low voltage is reached and (I presume) will turn back on when the return voltage level is met. It also has a very low no-load draw of just 0.1 amp. That is only with the Bluetooth version. The non-Bluetooth version isn't as flexible and has a higher no-load amp draw. On your overload test, it appeared that the inverter shut off due to low battery voltage, which was 10.8 V and was the over-discharge voltage cutoff in the app. I don't understand the Eco mode. A normal no-load draw is 0.1A, but in Eco mode the no-load draw is 0.2A. So why not just leave it on in normal mode since it dras such little power? The Eco mode doesn't seem to be very Eco.

During emergency power back up. I have 2 separate 12v in series using individual USBs and cigarette sockets I can ballance and have standard 12v outputs less complex, keeping an eye on the state of charge in each battery pack with the internal BMS near the end of discharge. Maximising all the available power. From dusk till dawn. Using a 3Kw 24v inverter. The Best Of Both Worlds.

    Solar panels(energy generation)to charge controller(converts said energy to needed d/c energy for storage (batteries), and then batteries to inverter such as was reviewed here. The inverter converts the d/c from the batteries into a/c like plugging into a wall socket for things like refrigerators and stuff. If everything you use is d/c powered, you don't need one. He has other videos that do a great job of showing and explaining how to set up the entire system. Which is what he used for this demonstration and testing. Be sure to have fun out there. @Mike Cavanaugh I think it's a blast! I have been researching for several months preparing for a cargo trailer conversion in the fall. I have been testing 3 200 watt rigid panels, 40 amp charge controller, 250 amp hours of battery storage (due to reasons, I am using agm batteries short term), and a 2000 watt modified sine wave inverter. Hopefully, I will find an affordable 3000-watt pure sine wave inverter in a couple of months that will power things with motors and electronics. Refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, and electronic equipment specifically. I live in the gloomy winter of the Pacific Northwest, so I am discovering that my trailer will definitely have to be a solar/propane hybrid. Unless, of course, I figure out how to winter down south somehow. I will be a full-time nomad, so anything is possible. Exciting, right?

    Not to put too fine a point on this, I realize you are just doing a quick demonstration. But 2 Gauge wire is a bit of a stretch for pulling 200 amps. While some charts say it's fine, others do not. If "I" was setting up a permanent install of a 2000 W 12V Inverter I would use 1|0 Single Aught (if short distances were used (less than 1 meter), or "00" 2 Aught if up to 6 meters... Nothing worse than melting a wire, and starting a fire. Blue Sea Systems (they sell high end components, essentially designed for the marine environment) has a really nice chart to help you pick the right size wiring, for both critical, and non-critical loads. Just my two cents... having melted some 2 gauge wire in the past... it makes me cringe, at the potential for a disaster.

    @@4Runner_4ever He isn't installing a panel, it's DC wiring and the NEC doesn't apply. The ABYC is more applicable, but isn't perfect either as he isn't on a boat. This is exactly where most people have trouble, they try to apply Home Wiring (AC Circuit) Standards (and products) to the DC side of the equation for Solar Setups... They are completely different beast. Suggested reading: Wiring Unlimited from Victron (It's a free download). Lots of people also falsely believe it's fine to go to the big box and buy 2|0 wire... it is not. You need finely stranded wire for DC, not the coarse stiff stuff from a big box. Fair points Michael. :) I don't disagree. I think alot of people also assume they can use a cheap single-pole AC breaker in these setups instead of a DC-rated double-pole breaker. Definitely worth the extra money to do it properly.

  • @solarcharging9743
    @solarcharging97434 ай бұрын

    But this is a cheap inverter. All Chinese made high frequency, transformerless inverters are cheap, with poor surge capacities and short life expectancies. They all lack a critical component that dramatically limits their peak power capacity and safe operation. That component is an iron core, copper wound output transformer that provides galvanic isolation between the DC section of the inverter and its AC output. The lack of this output isolation transformer can not only result in damage to you AC appliances, it can also set your appliances on fire. This Bouge "RV" inverter doesn't even have a UL-458 safety listing for mobile applications! If you want to "not cheap out" on your AC inverter and have a much safer inverter with a much higher surge capacity and a far longer life expectancy, then you need to purchase a UL-458 safety listed, low frequency, transformer based inverter.

  • @Alpha-ms9nj
    @Alpha-ms9nj7 ай бұрын

    That Bouge looks alot like my Kreiger. I'm researching inverters and is why I found this video. I purchased the Krieger 2000W PSW inverter from Amazon for almost $300.. It is part of a 300W emergency solar backup system with 2 Redodo 100AH batteries. I have had no power outages yet so I have never had to connect it to any household appliances. I only turn it on 2 times a week to charge power tool batteries, flash light and some 18650 batteries. The unit is basically on standby. It is only 13 months old. I turned it on today, it blinked, the fan made its usual whirring noise and then it just shut down and died. Won't turn on. It's getting power to the terminals. Batteries are at 14.30. I am super disappointed in the quality of the Krieger unit that has NEVER even been put through its paces. Contacted Power Bright the distributor, and waiting on a replacement. I didn't take it apart to see what happened, though I really want to but it would void the warranty.
