I think there is a mix of both self and bus powered where u can connect it to an outlet but the adapter is not given by the seller of the power can be drawn for the usb port also

Hey, good review. I want to buy a powered USB 3.0 hub which can take its input from a AirPad and connect a Mouse, Keyboard, HDD. If such hub can have a HDMI port vide which I can connect the iPad to an external monitor, that'll be great. Any inputs??

I've bought an USB hub which has 4 usb socket and also a small circle type socket, Is that for external power supply, but still it can run multiple devices like keybord mouse etc. I usually connect this with my mobile, and it draws it's current from my mobile, resulting draining battery fast, So should I use the external charger for the HUB

Long term use of usb hub can damage your motherboard I think if you connect multiple devices which require power , my motherboard started giving ‘ usb over current ’ problem and would shut down after 15 seconds maybe the usb socket on mother board got damaged internally and gone into protection mode and will require repair.

No I think. These lights need more power. I bought an adapter to connect 1 keyboard 1 mouse and 1 moon lamp. (light was not able to work properly)

i modified a Bus powered 2.0 USB by supplying an external 2.0 Amp supply to the Hub ( of course i disconnected the power line from computer side of the USB to the hub so it is purely powered by external power. Now this device is an external powered 4 port hub. When i plug in multiple devices it only sees one device and others dont show up. may i know why?- Thanks in advance
