Do not be afraid: lecture How to avoid the fear mongering tactics from keeping us from saying the truth. Anything that comes from other than Allah swt will have contradictions. This is the cause of apostates, but there will be others who replace them Those who are believers: - they are gentle with believers and stern with disbelievers. - for the sake of Allah - they do not fear the blame of blamers This is from the Virtue of Allah swt and He bestows Virtue to whom He wills. Being ridiculed and mocked is a common occurrence amongst prophets and it'll continue. Prophet SAW said " knowledge will be less, ignorance will become common" "Glad tidings to the strangers" Strangers are those when the ummah becomes corrupted, they try to rectify it. Abu Said Al khudri: I heard the Prophet MuhammadSAW say "the fear that you have should not prevent you from speaking truth. Abu Sa'id cried and responded " we became scared from what we've seen take place but you have to speak out" In another narration, Abu Sa'id said i wish I hadn't heard this ( because it is now an obligation) Why is speaking the truth is so important? Falsehood will become common and the people will become Desensitized to Falsehood and ignorant to the truth. Beautiful Statements to encourage: Ibn khudama: " majority of people were destroyed due to fearing criticism against them and loving to be praised. So the steps they take went in accordance of the people. Hoping to be praised, fearing what is said (against them). This is among the things that will destroy you, and it is important that its treated" Aisha RA " pleasing everyone is an objective you cannot meet". In a letter sent to Muawiya, She said that the Prophet Muhammad SAW said "Whoever seeks pleasure of Allah and in the process the people become angry with you, Allah azj will become pleased with him and He will cause the people to be pleased with him. And whoever tries to seek the pleasure of the people over Allah, Allah will become angry with him and He will cause the people to be angry as well." Ibn al Jawzi said: its amazing how people go out of their way to please others. He hopes to get close to their hearts. However, he forgets that their hearts is in the hands of Allah azj. ( Allah can easily change it, as stated by Allah swt " the heart is between the fingers of Allah") Ibn Al Barr- The truth is heavy, and it's seekers are few. Allah swt says ( those who convey the message of Allah, do not fear others, and Allah is sufficient for them) To conclude: - Qatadah said " Whoever has taqwa, Allah is with him. And whoever Allah swt sides with, he will have an army that cannot be defeated. And guards that do not sleep. And he has that which guides me and does not leave him astray." - Ibn Al Qayyim says " Do not see it as a burden going against what the people have to say and siding with Allah azj." - Even if the whole dunya was doing something that was displeasing to Allah, it us upon us to do what is pleasing to Allah and siding with Allah and His messenger, even if you are by yourself. Allah will be with you, by your side. Allah will take care of you. Etiquettes when calling to the way of Allah : - take into consideration being soft and gentle when we convey what is right. You can have so much knowledge, but with bad Etiquette no one will listen or take anything from you. Ibn Al Qayyim " wisdom is doing that which is appropriate, at a time that is appropriate, in a way that is appropriate."
