One of the things I admire about Kev is how he resists the humanisation of these animals. You can tell by the questions about whether lions would ‘protect’ him or not that many of us viewers want to think of the Lions as having human loving feelings towards him, but Kevin does the responsible thing by always reiterating that these magnificent creatures have their own nature and it is significantly different to ours. Not more or less valuable, just different.

I like how she sleeps peacefully when you're present, and even let u use her as a pillow. You're definitely part of the pride 😂😂

He has been working with these animals for years but that doesn't change the fact that there is always a risk. he is working with wild animals and they're unpredictable. The rear paw was her way to say “Wrap it Up!” Once he stopped waffling, she settled down and let him finish the production. That is Amazing! Comes from a long relationship.

I've seen video where he was taking a nap with some of the male lions, and they were all in a big pile. Kevin was resting his head on one lion's belly, and another lion had his paw resting over Kevin. It's obvious they are all comfortable together.

Most likely it stems from jealousy. The other fellow works in the "Same Field" as Kevin, and is evidently not as successful as Kevin, nor as well known. Hence the jealousy. He may not approve of Kevin's methods either, and probably doesn't have his own sanctuary like Kevin does either. Everyone wants to be the best at what they do, but there is only one *Lion Whisperer,* and the other fellow is envious and obviously doesn't handle it well. Of course his is just speculation on my part, (my opinion), if you will, but I have seen, (and experienced), this many times in my own life. There is really nothing you can do about others being jealous and petty towards you, so you just have to keep on doing what you do, try to be an inspiration to others, and continue to be the best at what you do. Just be nice, walk away, and leave those who can't handle it to their own fate.

It's really amazing how you aren't disillusioned by the affection that they show you, and can respond frankly about what the lions may do in certain situations involving yourself. No wonder they trust you so much.

It's unfortunate you ran into another in a similar field who apparently saw you as a competitor instead of two people wanting to help big cats/wildlife. That really is a shame. Working together is always better if we're all looking at the big picture for conservation and ensuring these beings are treated better by humanity. We have a long way to go still and thank you as always for all that you do.
