Jay you could've easily sold this for $10 or $20 after giving it some clever name on your website, but instead, you chose to share it with us for free. Thanks for making magic about sharing and experience instead of making money and keeping silly secrets. You rock!

Thank YOU Owen. As you know, my kids have gotta eat SOMETHING, so I do indeed market a bunch of my stuff. But frankly, my brain is so 'stuck' on creating illusions, I can also afford to share some of this stuff for FREE. I really and truly appreciate my fans - and so I sure hope that's 'coming across.'

He's great!
Just revisiting this classic to say this is one of my favorite tricks you've ever shown. Sadly I only did it once, about a month after this was uploaded. I practiced my thumb palming for weeks before our 2017 family vacation. At first I thought I'd do it in front of my family over dinner as I showed my niece, but instead, since they were engaged in conversation, I did it just for her without calling any attention. When she stared at the tic tacs with the quarter impossibly inside, the first thing she did was yell, "Mom, look at this!" and she ran around this restaurant table showing everybody the thing. Probably the most magical I've ever felt. I need to chase that feeling, and shake off my inhibitions from doing the prep work necessary to create these astonishing moments. Currently I have a co-worker who likes to say, "it's in your other hand," a lot, and has said, "Your card tricks are invincible, but your coin tricks, those I can always see!" I work part time at a gas station with her, so if I could "pick up some tic tacs off the shelf," or buy one previously for a break to prevent bar code inspection I think I could show her a "coin trick" that will absolutely floor her.
Vanishes and appearances with marked coins are amazing! It's just so great to make marked coins disappear then make it reappear and it still be the same coin the spectator marks. Just such a great thing to see as a spectator!
Love your illusions! I teach music at a small school so I teach all grades. Every so often I perform one of your tricks for them, they love it.
The thinking behind proving that it is the same coin that penetrates through box is amazing. Will be using this idea while performing the bent coin routine to subtlety imply that no coin switch occurred. Thanks man.
Excellent!
Awesome video! Thank you
You always have great stuff!! Thanks Jay...
By far one of the best subscriptions
This is awesome!
Awesome !!!
Every time I watch your video I feel blessed!! You are truly amazing. Thank you!
Love your videos and your humor, Jay! Thanks for sharing it all with us. I pick transform!
AWESOME Thanks Jay im definetly gonna practice this one !
I like that you put the coin in the card box at the beginning. Maybe in the performance you can connect that the marked coin started inside the card box so when it goes into the Tic Tac box it's going back where it came from but in a different box.
Awesome sir....thank u for this...
Brilliant
i love that trick , really made me smile , thank you
Mind-blowing!!!
freaking genius love it
I can’t ever get to sleep on time because I binge watch your videos lol You are an amazing magician. Thank you my friend ❤️💯

I like vanishes they're so clean and amazing, even cooler with a borrowed coin
Jay, love your KZread videos. I'd watch even if you didn't include tutorials. I'd really love to download the free PDF of the tic tac label, but it says I need to share my email, but there is no place to share it. How do I get the link?
Nice shirt 👍🏻
How do you come of with new ways to revealing cards... I also want to get some new ideas.... Awesome trick...
Love this trick with a treat!! The Zebra in peanut butter made me laugh!! Great video as always!! I always look forward to watching them!
I would definitely transform the coin. I love magic when things happen with a reason rather than just happen. The transformation itself is a story and it also serves as a nice misdirection to hide the transformed item.
Damnn nice trick jay!!!:)
Thanks for the lesson! I started setting this up last night when I remembered I had a tic-tac container in my car - I noticed on the video the same thing I noticed with my own container - the quarter is plainly visible in bottom of the container if it is leaned over too far - I see it in this video, and can see it with my container - simple fix by holding the container a bit more upright. I am a total noob and trying to learn - so if I can see it any other observant person can as well - Had my wife watch the vid and she saw it as well, and also sees it in mine when leaned over too much. I look forward to mastering this trick - your videos are an awesome resource - thanks again for sharing - Merry Christmas!
Please Sankey your to good toooo gooood

Hi professor! You are amazing! I love your explanations. Thanks for teach this magic tricks !. I have a question: after I get the coin, can I just take my hand in my pocket and leave the coin? or can I find a reason to take my hand in my pocket and take me something? And leave the coin.
Another good one Mr Sankey, you sneaky mo fo! As for your question, I'd go for a transformation - I like 'breaking in to a note' and turning it in to coins...
I would definitely do a transform, I've been fascinated with that whole area of magic since I started, and I would definitely like to peruse it a much more than I have, Jay can you recommend and specific books or resources on where to start, I am a member on Inside deception, so anything you can recommend from there?
That was such a cool song at the end.
Das ist einer der besten Tricks wo ich je gesehen habe ! Applaus .......
I would make the coin transform because transformation tricks are so visual and Jay!!! I love the card controll
I love your video as always. Are you going to the 2018 society of American magicians convention? About to get hit from a hurricane
Most definitely appear
Wow, this is the best idea I've seen taught on this channel. This could be sold as a download for five bucks. Great job, Jay.

Now that I got a chance to watch the video.. WOW, THANKS JAY! You could've easily made this a trick for us to buy.. method included with the printed out PDF.. but NOPE, NOT YOU! You're giving it away! Not only is that pretty cool.. it shows how passionate you are about your craft and how you really want your students/viewers to succeed.. at all costs. So.. thanks again, man! We certainly appreciate it!!

I really DID consider selling it as a separate trick - but hey, it's just a pdf, my fans CAN make it themselves - and when it comes to my fans...I just couldn't resist!
Awesome trick, I love coin vanishes I think they can leave a spectator wondering and guessing which is what I love about magic is that everyone can think about the same trick in different ways. So I have to go for making a coin vanish as my coin tick of choice.✌🏻
I would definitely go with transformation
Love thissssss channel
Man that was one clever way to force a card. Will definitely use all the info on this vid! Great stuff Jay The fact you could've sold this as an individual effect on your site, but yet gave it to us for free, is pretty dang Awesome. Keep on rocking brother!

I think transforming the coin is a much more startling effect. Everyone's seen a coin disappear and/or appear but to make the coin transform, like into a piece of candy, that really looks like magic. Awesome vid Jay, and Im loving your Front Row Sankey DVD. Totally worth the wait.

BOOOOOM!
I fell asleep with a deck of cards in my hands lastnight, woke up and they were all over the room.....MAGIC. hey jay did you ever do a video on the butterfly cut? if not you should, if so hit me up with a link please
I would do a appearance mainly because i was watching The Prestige and they talked about how the appearance is more astonishing than the vanish
Great combo trick , ive watched you so often i knew how you did it b4 reveal , guess i better add tictac to my evermounting props ! I think it might be possible to melt glue on label with a hair dryer and gently prise it off enough to gain access I used to do a combo trick with a pack of cigarettes which i would pianstakingly open from the bottom and delicately remove sleeve, doctor some of them then put it all back together and glue the bottom , It takes about 3 hours to prep trick that only lasts a couple of minutes , but the effect was spectacular , i quit smoking so ive not done it for years You don't really need a sealed packet , but it makes people believe it has not been tampered with , makes it appear impossible .
I like your shirt

A transformation because that's the best type of magic
I like to make a coin transform. In my opinion, it takes all the best things from a vanish, and joins them together with all the best things about a coin production. It just adds a whole new element to an already amazing aspect of coin magic!

appear! now,i can repeat... appear! now, i can repeat... instant reset, nice!!
Jay! You could also set the Tic Tacs on the coin, "rub the case around a bit to help the coin melt in", then slide the case toward you and pick it up from the edge of the table, lapping the first coin. Then you're clean, and don't have to keep the coin palmed.

Saweeeeeeeeeeeeet version for when sitting down.
Just started watching your videos and apart from being a skilled magician you're a very good teacher. You clearly know people, as in how their minds work. Aside from all of that, I have a question on this video. How do you discreetly discard the hidden coin once the trick is complete?
@SankeyMagic

I would make it appear!
I thought I was the only one who thought about zebras and peanut butter....lol...like your channel...for contest....transform would be my pick.
I would make it transform because with a vanish people get suspicous where it went and with an appearance where it appeared from but a transformation is so visual and it leaves no room for ideas how you did it
Hi
hey Jay..a true fan here..first time I'm commenting..love your stuff..oh yeah BTW..I would do a transformation coz there's something so magical abt it to a lady person's mind.. The first vanishing and the second appearing..2 in one too create a whole new one

Transform because in my experience a transformation always gets a better reaction then a vanish or appearance
You can also "place" the coin on the tick tack box.(no slam) it really looks like the coin is on the box when held below waist level. With a shake it sinks in to the box.

Yes indeedy!
haha first time i little bit late🤣❤
I'd make the coin trick transform as this appears as a more complete routine. You could change the coin into anything your imagination allows you to.
As a answer to your question Jay: I would transform the coin. Because vanishing and appearing are cool effects but if I have to chose I would do a transformation effect, because after transforming I simply introduced 2 visuals: the coin and the thing in which I transformed the coin. I love the effect that I can show others transforming object into other object and until now I got on these transforming effects a more incredible reaction than on vanishing or appearing.
I wonder if you could do a twirl change with the tic tacs to make the coin appear
ahahaha the end
If I could do one trick with a coin I'd make it transform! Actually changing into something else sounds great
I would say vanish because it leaves the audience the mesmerize moment like how did he do that etc. And also tha coin that vanish you can use it as well into vendo lol
"Here's some breath mints and a quarter." It sounds like a really backhanded donation to a vagrant.

I would do the transformation, so u can also transform the coin into dust which is very similar to a vanish

"Coin to Dust!" What a strange STRANGE trick that would be! :)
I would transform it
Jay, I love this...object to impossible location is one of my favorite plots. Now, this may be a case of don't run when you're not being chased, but I was thinking about the case where you give away the tic tacs. Since the label really doesn't match a commercially available one (at least not in the US where you have the UPC and nutrition info on one side), why not add "Not for individual resale" to the label (on both sides)? This is common for items sold in a multi-pack where the UPC/nutrition info would be found on the overall packaging. Oh, and to answer your question: transform
@SankeyMagic
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I do indeed think that you might be running when not being chased BUT...that's just my darn opinion, right? More like an educated guess, based almost solely on MY own limited collection of performances. Your might well have a very different vibe, style, approach, etc. Plus (and this is huge) if you have some DOUBTS about an aspect of an illusion, those doubts WILL inflence the experience in innumerable ways. So you need to def deal with your concern, either by exploring your revised label approach, or by at least trying at the version I've outlined here. Or (and this is my favorite) by a third way. Gotta love #3. Keep the door open for that one. :)
@noahdankner1100
6 жыл бұрын
I actually LOVE the idea of adding the "Not for individual resale" to the label. It would mainly be JUST for me though. But it would solve the same problem I thought of. A real TicTac label would obviously never not have the ingredients and nutrition information and at least in the U.S. it is illegal to sell food items for human consumption without that. Like Carey said, the only way this would be is if the item was sold in a multi-pack and then the individual items would have the "Not for retail" disclaimer. I don't think it would be "over-proving" because for most spectators it wouldn't really be a detail they would think of or pay attention to anyway, whether its there OR not there. So most would not think about it one way or the other. But for those 10% anal detailed people like me, they MIGHT realize the label is missing something. Therefore, in those small cases this would solve the problem. Still again within in the context of the performance of the trick, they'll be so engrossed with the trick that even many detailed people won't bother to think of something missing from the label. It would mostly be for if they kept the box as a souvenir and closely examined it later. Detailed magicians however, (the ones performing the tricks) notice all kinds of things when they're practicing/working/playing with their props because of course they're spending much more time with them. But most of these are things that the spectator will never notice in the course of a performance. But like I said I would add the "not for retail label" for me, not the spectator, just because I feel it would make things "COMPLETE." For 90-95% of spectators I don't think it would ADD nor TAKE AWAY from the performance. Do to my germaphobic OCD however, I would make sure that I cleaned and sanitized and/or sterilized the quarter that goes in the tic tac box. Then when removing the Tic Tacs, and doing the setup, I would wear latex gloves and do the prep in a sanitary environment, i.e. the TicTacs or the quarter would not be placed onto an unsanitary surface. Therefore, it will be perfectly safe and sanitary for the spectator to eat, consume and enjoy the TicTacs after the trick! :-)
I would like to know how to transform a coin
Well to make a coin appear is really interesting since you making an object appear from nowhere. Transform it to something else, is still spectacular. Because it give you the sense that with a coin you can have anything in the world. But to make it disappear ? I think its more magical than anything else. Because people might think that, you are hiding it and then making it appear, or you had something in the other hand and make it appear. But to vanish it, i think it takes them by surprise, but you have to be completely clean, otherwise will not leave an impression.
Transform. Then I could use the object the coin became to do another effect.
Nice man this is called lion hearted. decide to sho this thing for free for us ...loves you
You're an intelligent man and such a great teacher !

if i could only do one trick with a coin, I would transform it. a vanish is cool, but without it appearing it feels incomplete. An appearance without a vanish feels incomplete, but a transformation, that can stand alone.
Zebras covered in peanut butter? You too? I thought I was the only one!
Vanish
