Loved watching you polish your nails. You are very creative. One thing I don’t include in how much I spend on my nails is the nail oil or hand cream. I feel like those items are self care items. The skin around my nails would be ripped and raw if I didn’t use those items - they are essential to me. I probably need to work on the amount of polish I’m buying, though. Although, I did go for probably 25 years without hardly ever polishing my nails, so I guess I’m making up for lost time. 😂

@@Purplenpinkk thank you so much, that is such a nice compliment. I guess it's true that you don't need to factor in cream and oil but included it since at a salon they would also be billing you for those materials.

@@cheyennexonails oh, I see. I haven’t been to a salon in 18 years, so I don’t know, but I guess that makes sense. From looking at pricing in my city, In the long run, it’s going to be more economical to do my nails at home, as long as I don’t end up buying hundreds or thousands of polishes 😂plus I enjoy taking care of and doing my nails.

Nail polish & nail art are a hobby. If you’re comfortable spending $400 on a hobby in a year, then you’re not overspending. If that money would provide you security by going into savings or retirement accounts, then you’re overspending. I have never finished a bottle of colour polish, so I can’t count the value as 30 manicures. The value is in the colour range it allows me to choose from when I’m doing my nails. Toppers and sheers provide me more value since I prefer doing layering and skittles instead of nail art with brushes.

@@geniej2378 totally agree about it being a hobby. I have finished some bottles, base coats, top coats, black cremes, pink cremes and beiges since I use those a lot for nail art. I suspect it will be harder for me to use up my special effect polishes but I have a Neo from Cirque and Sands of Neptune from Mooncat that are running dangerously low.

Love the style of video. I’m pretty sure a bottle of kbshimmer is 15 ml :) so you’re getting more uses out of it! The calculations were interesting to hear, I’m def guilty of buying too much nail polish😂 so it makes me feel a little better that I’m saving money compared to going to a salon. I think I have about 125 bottles including top and base coats. Saving up for July PPU rewind!

Yeah I don't think I explained that well or might have misspoke. While I had my own estimates on how long it would take to use 15ml I decided to trust the pros(Essie) and use their estimates for a 13.5ml 30 uses. So I converted that estimate to 15ml... Sorry for the confusion!😅
