I have this winder as well. Wolf makes a quality product and it’s virtually silent when running. Very happy with it.

Bit late to the party but have just bought a new automatic and went to wear my old one and had the same issue, dead. I’m very OCD like you said too, I sit with my watch exactly prepared 1 min fast and wait for the exact time to press in the crown. The whole point in Watches is for accuracy of time surely? Haha. Thanks for the review I defined will be purchasing one of these now!

Glad you enjoyed it! I know exactly what you mean, I do that too! 😂 Might get away with a single winder if you've only got the two that you alternate between?

I have had three Wolf watchwinders. All three have broken after 3 - 6 months. Problem is they are impossible to fix compared to Swiss tech which opens in the back and you can get all the parts directly from them for a reasonable price. Motors are $25 and far better quality than Wolf which are cardboard and the cheapest possible motors.

The often overlooked piece about mechanical watches is their accuracy over time. Even with Cosc +\- 2 second which is far greater accuracy than most you still will not have accurate time after a few weeks

Huh? Not necessary. Watch movements need to rest. Watches at the AD are unwound and sit at the display case for months on end, not running. The lubricants in the watch are modern and specially designed to maintain viscocity even if unused. The only reason to have a winder is if you own a perpetual calendar and/or moonphase which can be a pain to set.

Why did you buy a winder with a fixed TPD of 900, when most watches only require 650-800 TPD. Would it not make more sense to buy a winder with a range of TPD choices?

The knobs look a bit plastic. Are they? It would be nice if it was a bit more compact. I could easily lose the storage. It's not fake teather I hope. I prefer real wood.

Hey - the knobs are really good quality, made of metal and have a very solid feel to them. Unfortunately I’m pretty sure that the box is fake leather - it’s very good fake leather but still would prefer if this were genuine leather. As far as the wood goes, again I’m not sure but looks and feels great. Overall the feel and look of this box is quality!

@@beforehespoke...2254 Thank you. Much appreciated. I did find a smaller version without the storage which probably fits me better. I'll definitely avoid the cheaper watch winders. Probably just wasted money.

there are only a few watches who really needs a winder, like a perpetual calendar, all the rest doesn’t need them at all.

Not if you buy a watch which you can handwind. That's a straightforward answer. Just don't buy a skx007 or 09 or most Seiko 5s

or buy the 007/009's with a watchwinder, mod them, wear them daily, weekly, or monthly as beater watches...who cares about wear. its just more convenient.

I noticed your watch winder is going all the time , wrong a watch winder should go for a minute or two then rest for say 5 minutes then go again for another minutes or two and so on your watch winder will do damage because going all the time will overwind your watch

No you cannot over wind a modern watch movement. Almost all modern but quality movements come with something called winding limiters. These limiters decouple the winding system from the hairspring when necessary.

watch winders are the same as leaving your car running non stop you are wearing down the moving parts. and booze is like put gas in your body. respect your body. you'll be sorry later

It's called luxury lazy. The reason for it, is so you don't have to set the time and date every time you pick up a watch from yoir "rotation". Having a rotation is the essence of pampered humanity. It also uses electricity constantly and mimics the human movement to "charge" a mechanic watch. The ultimate in lazy catering. If you have mechanical expensive watches you want this. Sad. Lubricant for less services on a 10K watch? hmm. Your answer is convenience and laziness. They shouldn't be called "automatics". Oh no, not having to set a watch. You must have accurate Greenwich England time and calculate the gravitational pull of the Earth, moon and sun.

Stylish They are spoiled. I have many many multiple 1000s of dollar unnecessary watches. Spoiled humans. Now, I need something that wears its mechanisms out quicker and wastes energy? Rhetorical. If you didn't want to set your watch every time for 30 seconds or less, you shouldn't have bought. Just say, "Humans are lazy animals." and I'd be fine with it. Instead of dancing around it. Yes, it's slightly more convenient. I just took 26 seconds to set my Panerai with calander before leaving. Also, many winders around powerful enough to keep my watches in the power. This really isn't that important so, I yield to you on this one. I was bored. I won't on....There is no such thing as Karma or a fantasy god. It's 2018. Not 100,000 years ago and we don't know why the sun rises or sets (It really doesn't. It's based on the earth's rotation to the angle of the sun.) Karma isn't a bitch, it's childish fantasyland. Horoscopes next. Humans need hope, so I don't blame you. It doesn't progress society though. Makes us ignorant. That could be positive or negative. Stardust to Stardust. Stop with the BS. Too harsh a languange for your, "fking"? Rhetorical again. You can tell time on a casio calculator watch from the 1980s. Especially you, doing nothing important, doesn't need accurate Greenwich England time to the microsecond. -We are done here. No friends and nobody likes me? I'm not the clown reading other people's comments and replying to them. In the same room you'd never say what you did. Behind your device, it's easy. Aww. Your quite stylish. I'm sure your the guru of modern Milan style replying to comments on KZread. I need a life? That's funny. I "hope" that word again, I don't wake up tomorrow as you. I've touched a nerve with you. Shame
