Also the high speed gear set uses a 48 pitch spur (quieter), and it opens your car up to so many different other spur gears.

Oh now that is interesting! I didn’t know that…but you’re right about having so many more options. It’s so inexpensive that this just seems like something any TT02 enthusiast should automatically add to their kit. And fyi…as a fellow Tamiya fan I just subscribed!

It's still a mod 0.6 spur gear (Tamiya USA site says it's the same as FF-03 spur gear) but the gear mount gives you the option of using anything that fits the screws, like 48 pitch gears.

quick question. if you look at the tt02 manual gear ratio page you have, it says the 70t spur with the 22t pinion (stock setting) has a 8.27:1 ratio. but on the paper that came with your 68t spur, it says the 70t spur with the 22t pinion (stock setting) results in a 7.37:1 ratio. it's like the two charts have different results. am i looking at something wrong? thanks for your time.

Ah I think I’ve got what you mean. The paper that came with the 68T is showing you that in order to get the 7:37:1 with your stock spur you’d need a 24T pinion. Just adding a bit here...so what the paper that came with the high speed gear set is saying is that if you use the stock pinion that came with the kit, the 68 spur will give you the 7:37:1 vs the 8:27:1 using the 70T spur. In otherwords, if you don't change out the stock pinion gear the high speed gear set will still be faster for you.
