Do I need a visa to travel to the EU after Brexit? New EU immigration policy explained!

Brexit will officially take place on 1st January 2021. As a result of leaving the EU, British citizens wishing to travel to Europe will be subject to new immigration rules. Most countries in continental Europe are part of the Schengen Area. Holders of British passports can only stay in the Schengen Area for no more than 90 days within each 180 day period. Fortunately, they do not need to apply for a visa. Meanwhile, due to historical reasons, British citizens may continue to reside in the Republic of Ireland.
