I totally agree with you about the fact that a certificate is a piece of paper for yourself. But, In my country, in web development, if you don't have a proof of your level, your knowledge (diplomas, certificates) well it will be difficult to get a job.

Some says : get your job done and get paid , that's all !! if you want friends , have them out of your job and live your life far from work !! i totally agree with this !!
