So...I was a kid who grew up on food stamps living in subsidized housing who got school vouchers and was a kid who benefited from those toy drives they have every Christmas for the poor kids. I am also someone who moved up significantly in socioeconomic status in adulthood. I fully believe that I need to pay more taxes because I know what it is like to personally benefit from those programs. If it helps to send another kid get basic meals so they can concentrate in their classes or a family to get heating during the winter or to help an elderly person with transportation to their doctors appointments, I am beyond happy to help and grateful for what was freely given to me. I feel that is part of my duty as an American citizen

@@GameDogLeader21 ... if your definition of happiness is in the “journey” like it is for some people. If you constantly don’t have enough money to buy food, go out, etc. money WILL make your life better. It’s easy to have the whole “True happiness doesn’t come from money” approach when you’ve never seriously had to wonder where your next meal will come from, unlike Felix’s experience, where he COULD’VE gone to his parents. Chances are you’ve never been homeless or food insecure before either. However, I digress, because happiness is ultimately a state of mind. Some things make literally everyone happy (sex, food, etc.) and others are split (pineapple pizza, Rick and Morty). It’s an opinionated topic for sure, but (and this is really controversial) for a majority of people money, even just a little money will make them happy, because it can buy things that make everyone universally happy. It’s laughable to think otherwise.

@@joshuadorsam4619 well its hard to be content without your necessities, but i see happiness as something different. Content is a big deal and can feel wonderful when you finally do get food or safety or w.e it is. But to me happiness is different, happiness is living life not just surviving it if that makes sense. And it can be more difficult but you can still live life even when surviving is difficult.

These definitions are typical in investment books, I'll explain. Broke = out of money Poor is a state of mind + lack of money The saying goes that you can get broke multiple times, but you always know how to get out of there. Poor is when you accept that you will be broke forever and don't work on changing your situation. Making money is about productivity of your time, and turning your money into making more money. Meanwhile people that are Poor waste the little money they have in things that perish or depreciate.

And you certainly aren't the person looking back in the book and remembering that whole year. But seriously, he's right about being able to make 1 or 2k pretty quickly. You've got to look where your spending and how to shrink that payment. One of the biggest changes I've made is my phone. I've got a $200 (my most expensive one in a while) phone and a phone plan thats like $15 a month. Most people pay like $40 and buy $1k iPhones every other year. In a year, you can save over $1.5k just by switching services or choosing a less expensive phone. 25*12 is $300

I think Timothy had a point though. She didn’t give a valid excuse besides being young and living with her mom. Becoming rich is NEVER easy, and you better expect to be busting your ass if you want to atleast increase your odds of success. Making a couple thousand dollars literally isn’t that hard lol. Just get a minimum wage job and save your money for months... or a year if needed.

@Generic Guy I wasn't arguing that hard work and applying your skills won't work. People who still have minimum wage jobs CAN still make a thousand dollars, but that has to build up over time because people still have to pay for things like taxes, food, rent, etc. Pewds summed it up perfectly towards the end because he pointed out that even if you have a job and apply your skills, there's always things like circumstances and timing that contribute to your success.

Is it fun to be poor while it's happening? Hell no. But after making it out of that and looking back? It's an experience that is invaluable. I wouldn't undo the time in my life I was homeless for anything else, it made me who I am and brought me truth about what that experience is that you just cannot really get unless you were there. I don't think he is an asshole for wanting to experience something he hasn't, even with other people saying they hate it. I guess everyone has a right to feel like a victim if they want to, but I feel blessed for everything in my life, even abuse as crazy as that might sound. No way I could ever be the strong person that I am without every single piece of my life exactly how it was.

There are some that are millionaires but still live just as frugally as they did when they were "poor." That's how they were able to accrue the capital needed for investments, that netted them a profit that was used for future investment...etc. See: Grant. Of course, there's always the huge element of luck that comes into play (being at the right place at the right time, just so happening to roll the dice on a deal that could potentially go south, ... but vice versa, success goes the other way as well. The more time & energy you invest into a company or deal, the greater the chance of it generating you a profit.

it's funny how "poor" has a different meaning for each person depending on their culture. I'm brazilian and poorness has a whole other meaning here. As a point where poor means barely having a place to call home.

I think that’s for everyone- these people are just super out of touch. They think of it as being pitiful, which poor is a financial state.

These people are probably from the West/East coast, or major cities. Where I'm from, Arkansas, there are places where there are shacks with dirt floors. You have to remember that a single state is the size of a country.

I thought the same thing. In my country it means you live in the streets, you rely on others to get something to eat. I've seen some people in the internet say they are broke, while they have a home, food, a family, the possibility to do things just for fun, but they say it because idk they can't buy a car or another house by themselves

Here in the Middle east, specifically Saudi Arabia, we don’t have many homeless people at all because the government helps them. “Poor” here is probably a person who rents a not so good apartment with lots of financial issues.

Pewds is actually showing his humbleness throughout his videos online and offline with the type of his personality, the connection with his subscribers, the initiative with the Floor Gang Members’ revenue that he is giving to the charity organisations. Thanks for the awesome content! I’ve been watching Felix for a long time from 2015 and he is advancing so much!
