DMV Thailand: Riding with a World Traveler - Thai Boxing
In this video I meet up with a world traveler living in Northwest Thailand and ride one of his favorite roads around Chiang Mai. Later we meet up and swap travel stories, and I head back to the city to check out the National Sport of Thailand, Muay Thai.

Joe, your Irish friend had me laughing. My grandparents came to the United States from Ireland, and they had nine kids, eight of them were my mothers brothers. And it seems that they all tell stories the same way. They talk out the side of their mouth when they’re telling you some thing a bit shady… and I will say this about the Irish. They all get together when there’s a funeral, and they drink whiskey, and they laughed the whole time. When my uncles would come to visit my mother and the other uncles, but I will gather at my mom‘s place in the country. That’s all they did was laugh the whole time call me telling stories about when they grew up during the depression in Pittsburgh.
One of the coolest videos I've seen, joe.

Very interesting conversation you had over lunch. I would have definitely said that guy in the red shorts was going to lose at first but he made a great come back.

Another great video. Saw a bit of MotoGP riding at the beginning. Love the Thai Boxing portion. I could never understand the music being played during the rounds and how to place a bet. Sorry you had to leave Thailand. You'll love Issan when you go back. Get ready to notch up the flavor of Thai food when you go

That lady with the tent and her price. I think she just did the standard approach they all use everywhere. Start high and see if customer is dumb enough (plenty are) to pay, otherwise keep going down and stop at the actual price. Whenever, I am at a market or elsewhere I just keep saying know, then pretend to walk away. THAT's when they really drop the prices and keep slowly (as you don't actually want to walk away) walking so they can continue shouting at you lower and lower prices. When they stop, then you know that you probably reached the bottom and return and buy the product. Been doing that technique for year and it works most of the time....

A lot cheaper than you'd think. By keeping the expenses to a minimum and buying the plane tickets almost a year in advance, it wasn't terrible. That said, I could never have done it with the support of my patrons on KZread.
