Hi Eric, Thanks a lot for informative videos on your channel. Recently, I got a Hytera X1P and upgraded its firmware to V8 and use CPS software V8. I did settings for for analog channel and digital channels. - For fm analog repeaters or simplex calls, it works fine, except sound is coming looks like far aways... and calls from my side are has qrm... what I have to do any recommendation...? -For digital repeater, we have a few d-star repeater at clubs, but when I push PTT key, X1P looks not sending signals, red led on top of rig, is flashing.... any idea for this too ? Thanks in advance and keeping you watching on youtube...

I haven't used Hytera software before, but it looks quite similar in operation to TYT and the other chinese DMR radios.

if you're going to do analog channels, it's my understanding you need the 25khz license/key which you can only get from a dealer.

Why name a channel by it's repeater name? How will you know what TG you will TX into? Something I'm missing? You'll end up with 4-5 same channel names if you program multiple talkgroups. Why not do something like VB 311 for Vero Beach repeater TAC 311? Something I'm missing? does Hytera show contact under name of channel? Can't wait to get mine tomorrow!

Yes you can it is fairly easy but some features are locked out. In common or conventional select features and turn on keypad editing. You can edit frequencies, ctcss codes etc on analogue, and you can edit colour and slot codes on digital. The only thing you cannot do with the keypad is name the channel.

Yes & no, it depends on how the radio is set up. On most Hytera radios you'd need to set that up yourself from the CPS.

on my receive I have to hit the PTT button in order to let the audio come through the speaker??... any suggestions on why that is happening? .............. otherwise the radio is working fine, but of course who wants to live with that issue!... I actually nmeed to do this with every single received transmission, which means I actually need to LOOK at the radio to see when a transmission is coming through so I can briefly press the PTT !!

That’s because the TG you are listening to is setup for Dynamic operations only.. meaning it does not pass traffic from the system until a user physically keys up the machine… if you have your Local repeater Sysop setup the TG for Static operations, you’ll hear all the traffic without any required intervention by you..

@@terrygillard9350 No, this is happening with a hotspot......I have several hotspots and another DMR transceiver that does not behave this way, I tried to examine every single operator in the cps but to no avail.... however and to increase the oddity of this behavior, when transmitting to the afflicted radio with another DMR radio, it receives just fine?..........BUT, when receiving a transmission from a hotspot I actually need to wait for a transmission to be in progress and THEN tap the ptt to make the radio produce audio from the signal it's receiving.... if I press the ptt a nanosecond before the signal is transmitting, I'll hear nothing.

Well if this is for beginners, then I would not be able to even begin in an advanced programming. You are referring to ,code plugs? Colours?, contacts?, radio ids?, and talk groups without even explaining what they actually, for a beginners how too you are assuming far too much. You are going to have to start from basics if you going to produce a video for beginners, way too many acryacoms , is a colour a tone? Or maybe some kind of encryption?, what is the difference between contacts and talk groups?, I can go on but it all seems a bit pointless? If your going to make a video for beginners then I strong suggest you start at the beginning. Nothing personal but your instruction was of very little help the only bit I could understand was how to program in a frequency but that’s about it Regards Kerry
