I've been playing through my first normal/rg only run. Jumping or evading the first dive he does is tougher than it looks and he chips you away because he does so much damage.

I just found out someone called Ashcoop (hope I spelt that right) did Royal Guard only videos on some bosses including the Vergil fights on DMD so go watch their videos, they’re way better than me.

I have literally never heard dante say "Sweet baby!" For his SSS taunt. It's always "Crazy?! Huh!" Or "Let's start the party!". Are these voice lines like on a different version? Or tied to a specific skin?

Very rare, and I don’t think you can get it if you’re using the shirtless or coatless DMC1 outfit in the HD collection (he uses previously unused lines instead of the normal ones, “Let’s start the party” is one of them). I very rarely hear this line.

@@assassinonprozac i think it might depend on which style is being used,ive almost never heard anything else besides "Crazy,huh?" back in the time i only used to play Swordmaster and once i started playing royal guard he then rarely said something else when at SSS

@@julius00 No, it’s just really rare and costume dependent, style doesn’t matter. If you played with the shirtless outfit or coatless DMC1 outfit you physically cannot get this line, that probably had something to do with it.

Keep in mind people this is DmC3 RG and not DmC5 RG. 5's RG is baby food compared to 3's. You're either frame perfect or you're eating that Beowulf combo

It’s not frame perfect, not even close. It’s about a 6 frame window which is very easy to hit consistently once you get it down, jump blocking and roll blocking makes it even easier by letting you i-frame through the majority of attacks if you’re late with your block. If it actually was frame perfect I would’ve never made this video, I’ve tried to do a Taunt Jet Upper in Tekken (3 frame perfect inputs in a row) and in my 10 years of playing have done it once, (and I have very good execution, I can consistently hit electrics in Tekken and do Akira’s one frame knee in Virtua Fighter consistently) blocking Vergil’s combos would be like doing multiple Taunt Jet Uppers in a row. And if you don’t get a just block you only take one or two hits, you don’t eat the full thing, you can jump out after taking one hit. People think Royal Guard is hard but if you actually spend the time to practice it, it really isn’t, especially relative to the reward you get for it. Also, DMC4’s Royal Guard is much harder than 3’s in my opinion, I can consistently guard pretty much every attack in DMC3 without practicing any of it even after months of not playing but in DMC4 even with practice I can barely guard anything. Also, it’s DMC, all capitals. DmC is the reboot.

I haaaaate trying to time his 1-2 punch cause I always assume he's doing the opposite of what he's actually doing. When I assume he's gonna use the dive kick he ends up doing the rest of the ground combo so I get demolished. Dmc players are broken down just like marines I'm pretty sure you gotta be a monster to be an expert at this shit

Agni & Rudra were the best weapons in a DMC save for Gaunlet and Greive weapons Ifrit and Beowulf, The series lost me after 4 tho and 4 wasn't even that good🤷‍♂️

I was pretty damn young when I tried the first 4 games and never paid attention to the story really just the action, however I bought the collection in the last few weeks and played thru em and realized 2 things 1. I thought for some reason that garbage reboot was 5 and it wasn't thank fuck . 2. I was wrong about 4 it was pretty awesome, just plain and simple wrong and I came back to say it .

This is harder than vergil 3 I can't rg beowulf at all. So annoying

@@Nox5534 I’m 90% sure I did this on Turbo mode. I did the Vergil 3 ones without it but by the time I did Vergil 1 I had switched. It could be not on Turbo but I’m pretty sure it is. It’s not like Turbo makes it harder anyway, it just changes the timing slightly.

@@Nox5534 Maybe it’s because I’m barely moving throughout the entire video. When you’re moving around and attacking it looks faster than just sitting in one place blocking things.
