Parang nakita ko na kung ano ang weakness ni Francis Lopez... magaling sya sa help defense because of his athleticism pero sa straight up defense mahina sya... kinakain sya ni Policarpio...eto sivuro dahilan kaya lagi sya na cu cut sa gilas pool.

The chokers are not chokers anymore. This is an understatement of La Salle’s statement of today’s game. What a team development! As a UP fan, I take the loss fine and congratulate La Salle for the win, deservingly so. Admittedly this has been the new La Salle team since that game vs UST. Five things that killed UP to get back to the scoreboard toe-to-toe with La Salle: (1) Escandor contribution (2) Mike Philipps on the post, under the rim. He’s solid there. (3) The rebound war won by La Salle boys (4) Policarpio offense won over Lopez defense (5) The timely three point shot from Nelle. That was the nail on the coffin

@@fredtacang3624 NU = cheap. Please do not mention NU in the same line as UP, DLSU, and AdMU. There's no prestige in that school so cheap. NU is for skolbukol peeps. It's a school for the low-earners like cleaners and the like. UP, AdMU, and DLSU are the only ELITE schools in Pinas. The rest are so-so. But NU is the worst.

I disagree. With how things are developing, there could be no up-nu in finals contrary to our first prediction. I hate to say this and as much as I want UP to be in the finals, I'm thinking it will be another classic Ateneo-LaSalle finals match up. Well La Salle's peaking at the right time and Ateneo's not shy on admitting they're eyeing to dethrone the number 1 team from its spot to regain the title. And Tab being Tab, I know he can.

Peyups lang daw magaling, bawal sa iba lol Could be a repeat of 2016, where nobody really expected admu to make the F4, let alone finals, after losing the magnificent 7 (cj perez, arvin tolentino, carino, dolinguez, pingoy, comboy, apacible). But then, diouf is now the dominant FSA, and up does have superior guards. Nawala man tamayo/lucero, anjan naman cansino, lopez, etc And let's not forget adu. Nash took down his college alma mater last year (dlsu); could be his HS alma mater this year (admu). Let's see how things pan out

@@fredtacang3624 HA! I'm praising Tab hoping to put jinx on him and Ateneo.🤣 Kidding aside, Tab does his assignments pretty well. It's tested and proven with the championships he won for Ateneo. And the Ateneo winning culture and mindset is still there. My point is UP should not underestimate and take Ateneo lightly coz 2016 repeat for Ateneo is just looming around the corner. Or the Season 82 repeat for UP. Yes, Malick is the most dominant FSA this season and the guards are solid for UP but if you come to think about it, basketball has five position, each with significant role. The PG, the brain inside the court that dictates the tempo and create plays for the team. The SG, the shooter that assist the PG in dictating the tempo and creating plays. An offensive weapon. The SF another offensive weapon on the paint, the parameter that help the C. The PF the defensive weapon that helps the C in defense..C, the last line of defense in the paint, the offense in the paint. Remove the effective C in the game, the baggage and role goes to SF and PF as the first line of offense and the last line of defense. If these two roles occupied weakly, then we could see holes around the paint area which can be attacked by the opponents and the lack of offense from that area. Each position in basketball is simultaneously linked with each other. They're interconnected. An ineffective or lack of PF would actually make the C more vulnerable and commit foul trouble. And so the problem would snowball. If we look at the history of UAAP, big men wins over guards. Basically it's size vs speed. If Coach Gold could turn and make guards win over big men without Carl+Zav role completed, I'd say he's built on different level. That would be mind-blowing. I don't see Adamson as a threat unless they knock out La Salle and Ateneo this second round.

@@kurinaiuchiha Things you failed to realize in this genius play. Topex acknowledged the strength of up's guards, hence: 1) no dribbling away. It was 4 corners, more passing/phasing. Less chance for a steal off the dribble. Constantly confusing/rotating the defense, making them exhausted for any ensuing plays 2) the passing/phasing lkewise gave the up defense less chances of fouling/stopping the clock 3) that perfectly set up dagger 3, the kicker in this genius play. Defense was too confused/spent to chase after nelle's shot. Also, topex knows that up is very much capable of their own dagger 3's, hence he took that away and made it his own, to finally put the game away That's just how geniuses work: take the enemy's weapon and beat them with it (up's dagger 3's). Just like how tab/admu took away uste's vaunted 3 point game and used it against them (2019 finals)

I've been telling people this has been my fear for UP and the possibility of S82 repeat just looming around the corner. But I solely disagree UP have already reached their peak. Not yet. That's not it. That's not their peak yet. The possible scenario is La Salle peaking at right time while UP is late or won't be able to peak at the end of the season. This opinion is coming from the belief that each UP players has not yet reached their full potential this season.

⁠@@griffinclavano6929 A 2-ball possession lead with 20 seconds in the game is not safe for any leading team hence that Nelle shot was crucial to give DLSU cushion against UP with the time winding down. That tie with 4 minutes remaining just shows you nothing is safe against a team like UP, with or without its FSA and veteran players.
