Petey for the nostalgia. Hoping the next Mario kart game brings back the double dash mechanic. Also daisy cruiser it's just solid. Not the strongest course wave in my opinion. I would have said koopa cape but I don't like the changes you highlighted in the video. Koopa cape is still good, but feels slightly gutted like when daisy cruiser allowed you to go through the swimming pool in 7. The additions of the floating goombas makes up for it. Wish the floating characters were random each time.

characters are all awesome, quality of graphics is doodoo but gameplay-wise the tracks seem fun!

As a person from Los Angeles, I can confirm that the people are actually blurry and 2-dimensional, this game got the city spot-on.

Wish wiggler had more drifting animation with his upper arms while drifting similar to MK7 where he sticks them out to balance or has them flowing back after a speed boost or a fist bump in the air after a turbo boost

Yeah so for anyone reading this, wiggler shares waluigi's stats, BUT wiggler's vehicle has a smaller hitbox. So if they had not made any balance changes, wiggler wiggler would be the best combo right now!

There's one more little alternate on Squeaky Clean Sprint! On the glider section at the lap change, you can bounce off the soap bottle instead of the sink and there's little section with a boost panel

I love how shortcat is just like giving us a leisurely tour stopping to look at scenery but still getting 1st everytime

Vancouver Velocity's first lap seems to be based on Whistler/Squamish and the Capilano suspension bridge. The wooden bridges could be homage to the mountain biking community. But Raincouver doesn't get much snow ironically.

Bro stayed behind and studied the tracks and he STILL won. 😂

i'm so glad they brought back Moonview Highway, that was one of my favorite tracks on the Wii :)

It really is true that a lot of Tour tracks have poor signposting. Like even when I first played MK I don't think I missed turns as often as I do on the city tracks. I know they want to have the multiple route thing, but it's night-and-day with the other tracks in the pack how easy it is to get turned around. And yeah, some of it is pretty ugly, which is disappointing given that a lot of the ported tracks look fine!

@@PlatinumAltaria the blind turns are a bit bleh, but the more you play the more intuitive those turns will get

squeaky clean sprint actually has 3 alternative paths at the end, if you go off the glider and then to the right you can A: trick off a receipt with 2 coins on it B: go a little more right and trick off a boost panel & a plant afterwards C: go even more right and very high to trick off a boost panel & boost mushroom

I think wiggler should have a transition between angry and normal. It feels weird that it doesn't.

Bro I love Kamek he is an extremely awesome character and I’m glad he’s finally in a Mario Kart game as Wave 5 is extremely great as it is a good time

This wave is great, really pleased with the tracks, especially Daisy Cruiser, Also the characters are great! I

I honestly loved the detail of having the 2d audience in the baseball stadium lol. It brought me back to the times when I played Mario sluggers on the wii and even Mario strikers on the GameCube.

I can’t wait for the new vids with the new update. I love your content!

A lot of changes to some of these courses, like Daisy Crusier and Koopa Cape, originated in their MK7 incarnations.

19:13 Actually, Vancouver is the place that receives the least snow in the entire country cause even during winter, it generally stays above the freezing point over there. Vancouver was the absolute worst place they could come up with for a snow track. It literally could have been any other city in Canada, Québec city for example. Vancouver and B.C. in general is famous for its sequoias (the redwood forest), not for the snow 😂 Nintendo really dropped the ball on that one

love the cruiser track, especially right now in the middle of summer, feels so appropriate

As an Iggy main who uses Yoshi Bike, I see the Kamek as an absolute win. (I use paper glider just bc I like how it looks didn’t even know it was meta until I played more. I do use Leaf Tires because I prefer how they look to Rollers)

You have helped me out alot on morio tracks and your vids are good

Two minor gripes with Wiggler conpared to 7: no more train whistle sound when he gets mad, and no more arm animation when drifting or boosting (although this change was probably because characters physically hold their items now). Either way I'm super glad my boy is back! New tracks are looking cool too and I'm also happy to see Petey return and Kamek finally get in

On Squeaky Clean Sprint, you can trick on the drain plug in the sink at the very beginning. You can tilt forwards to sink faster.

Whoa I’m actually early! This wave looks so fun to play with the new maps, I’ve played some tour and remember moonview highway

It'd probably be very difficult to keep the game's frame-rate steady on the Switch if they added significant detail to distant parts of the city tracks, so I'd say some of the art choices are about prioritising smooth racing! Personally I think the levels look gorgeous and that there's something nice and impressionistic about the faraway buildings being more like silhouettes, but I understand why other people prefer more detail.

I wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't in the same game as tracks with incredible graphics like big blue. The graphics and general design choices have also been inconsistent between DLC waves. I think the switch can run the graphics, and they're just putting less effort into the DLC than the base game which is understandable

The oil pumps is totally a SoCal thing. You will be 200ft from the beach and there will be like 5 tucked in a lot behind a 7-11.

I was playing with the new characters and I think I might have discovered a good combo. I’m not an expert so I might be wrong, but it felt like I was going super fast when I was using Kamek with the Bowser glider, Azure rollers and B-dasher. Perhaps it has a high mini-turbo stat?

In S. Clean sprint there are some alternative path all the way to the right after taking the up path, like one whit 2 item boxes and the other whit a boost panel Lucky for you the city tracks this wave arent that confusing, just wait till rome arrive and see what a mess up of a layout it has

I might have to get the dlc pack just to use wiggler, I get hit so many times in first and seeing his angry animation is amazing

In Squeaky Clean Sprint laps 2 and 3, if you want to take the upper path near the end, ride the toilet geyser all the way up while holding back on the analog stick and then guide the kart to the right slightly. You might miss it the first time, but it's really easy once you have the hang of it.

In the squeaky clean sprint a shortcut is when you glide go next to the tooth paste and there is a short cut so just go right when you start gliding on top of towels so when you get on the wood on top of the towels glide right to the pirrhana plant toothpaste I think I'm first to find it like if you found it helpful so when you are on the wood instead of towels glide to the right

the koopa cape shortcut has been shroomless since mk7 also i believe the zappers were taken out since mk7 as well since the pipe you drive through in the underwater section was cut in half

I think that one of the new best combos is Kamek + Tanooki Kart + Azure Roller + cloud glider. You will not be disappointed

At, 24:05, on squeaky clean sprint, you can glide left and take a shortcut behind the sink. And it gives you a double item box

“Oil?? Is that a Los Angeles thing??” Lol it actually is, there are a lot of oil rigs in LA. Many of them are hidden behind or inside buildings, so they don’t detract from the aesthetic too much.

Question: why do you drift off of ramps/ledges before tricking off of them when you don't have enough time to charge a mini turbo? Does that not lose you speed?

As a person from Canada it is not always snowy. It's actually in our 30 degrees Celsius here. But Vancouver is rainy every single season except winter.

Vancouver honestly is all about the Capilano suspension bridge, the Olympic torches, BC Place and Roger's Arena lol

I don't like the mountain textures on Koopa Cape it reminds me of Rock Rock Mountain but other than that the rest of the track looks aesthetically beautiful. Rock Rock Mountain was brought from the ground up from Mario Kart Tour, and it looked so much better on Mario Kart 7. GGs man love the first hand experience you did there :D

Daisy Cruiser looks really pretty, same with Moonview. I like that there are cars you can ramp off of altho I don't like that the cars don't seem to squish players now. I bet it feels better to play but I liked the gimmick. Squeaky Clean looks pretty damn cool. I kinda miss the Koopa Cape tunnel being enclosed and not underwater but it looks like they added the water stream that speeds you up back from Wii after they removed it in 7, so that's a huge plus! The three new city maps, especially Athens Dash, look like they're straight outta Roblox though.

Im sure you know by now, but wiggler is a super slippery character for whatever reason. Most of those courses arent to slippy but wiggler is. The only spot that is really slippery is the soapy path coming out of pipe, although the fan also pushes you

I think Excitebike Arena has the 2D crowd too, it's just less blurry, therefore less noticeable probably done because if they were all 3D the framerate would go to hell and the Switch would become a weapon of war

For some reason I feel like they made the handling worse in general. Things just feel more slippery, and my inside drift bike (yoshi bike) is starting to feel a little closer to outside drift lol. I also feel like they might've increased rubber banding a little bit??

9:45 you can take the up path if you trick off the gayser

On squeaky clean thing if you go in the soap bottle after you take the secret path from the toilet you get a super secret shortcut.
