Dear Gayatri, when you send back your samples, it is sent to our lab for tissue typing. Once your samples are analyzed, your unique profile is added to the global donor database. Post which, you will receive a welcome email from us. This entire process takes up anywhere between 8-12 weeks. 👍🏻

Ethnicity goes beyond just being a mark of our identity. Our ethnicity is indeed a lifesaving factor for people suffering from blood cancer or other blood-related disorders. Indian patients mainly require an Indian tissue match for a transplant to take place. Hi Akshat, the process of stem cell donation is similar to blood donation. In this process blood is drawn from one arm and passed through an apparatus that separates out the stem cells and returns the remainder of the blood to your body through the other arm. Its a safe & easy process called apheresis. To know more check the frequently asked questions on your website - www.dkms-bmst.org/faq
