Very interesting. On paper, the Mini 4k and the Mini 2 are basically identical. But it's pretty obvious when they're side by side that the 4k has WAAYYYYY better dynamic range. Better processing, I suppose. A few years have passed between them, and software gets better over time. As far as the "other drones" go. I'm DJI exclusive, and have been for a while now. I'd never even look at anything else. I'm sure there's some great options out there for people that don't care, but I do.

I have both the DJI mini 4k and the Potensic Atom 3 gimbal 4k and to me they are very comparable. Both are great drones with the Potensic being a little more expensive but I believe the battery life is better.

I much prefer the Mini 2 original with the led up front and brighter warmer picture quality

Can the DJI Mini 4 Pro be flown right out of the box or do I have to connect with DJI to "activate" the drone? Just wondering. I'm thinking about getting one, but not sure.

I prefer the image quality from the original Mini 2, the newer Mini 4k is still good but like you say it's a bit too blue/cold compared to the brighter and warmer Mini 2.

I think it’s a personal choice.

I'd say the color on the mini 4K looks cooler than the original Mini 2. I would really like to see how it takes pictures of the clouds because the mini two was flawless when it come to depth in the clouds almost HDR

Does anyone know if the batteries are interchangeable between the mini 4k and mini 2? I just need one extra battery for the mini 4k i bought. Amazon just shows listings for the mini 2 battery when i search. I contacted DJI customer service direct;y and they took 35 minutes to tell me they werent sure and to contact a retailer like amazon, walmart, or best buy to find out.

What White Balance values were in place for the comparison shots please? This could be a big factor in the apparent temperature difference in the footage.

@@HalfChrome If both Auto that could explain the big difference. If both locked to the same value that’s interesting. While I love the Mini 2 still, at least the more available Mini 4K seems to offer better dynamic range. And the price is amazing!

I have an original mini fly more, then I bought a 2se with a cracked gimbal to repair for $50. Today I just bought online a new Mini-2 fly more kit for $275. Can’t wait till it gets here. The original owner was sent the new sealed mini 2 under the crash / repair program and bought a new 3 in the meantime. Looking forward to 4K video.

its a mini2se with a new chip someone found the old mini2se sticker in his mini4k (it was a mini4k btw it showed on arms and shot 4k) and I believe DJI confirmed it was just a 2se with a new chip capeable of handeling 4k

Yes, I bought the Mini 4K on Amazon a few days ago. The sticker inside the battery door has the Mini 2 SE printed on it. It has Mini 4K printed on the arm and I filmed in 4K so the motherboard is a 4K.
