Why would I buy a Mavic Pro 2 if I can have a 4k flying camera that fits in my pocket for half price :D

the mavic air looks like a more finished picture. i want a flat profile and low contrast when i edit. does mavic air have dlog or dcinelike? i would keep the p4 or p4pro and have mavic air for fast and fun social media sharing

I have a Phantom 4 and the controller will not charge along with 2 of the 3 batteries I have for it. Would you suggest getting a new controller for the Phantom 4 or get the Mavic Air. Right now my Phantom 4 is useless without a controller so any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks in advance and thanks for making the video it was a useful comparison.

If they announce a mav pro 2 at the see the bigger picture event does that mean it comes out that day? Is that how they do thier events is it a release event I mean?

I still have the phantom 4, not gonna upgrade since its a bigger drone, it's more robust, longer time in the air, faster motors 30FPS is enough for production only 2 sensors, I'm flying in the air, not in the woods. what do u guys think​?

Now this is the video comparison I've been wanting to see. I just got my Mavic Air in, and my buddy has the original Phantom 4 like this one. He claims my camera is not as good as his. He bought his P4 for $1400 back then. I'm super happy with my purchase as the Air is an incredible tool for it's near micro size! Awesome comparison

Scott Givens you can't compair the fantom 4 to the mavic air really the fantom 4 blows away the mavic air in everyway range photos videos speed in the,wind cold and it's a beast mavic air shakes small has no range and I bird will easly take it down

GYMCADDY not really the mavic air has no information on the controller and it's Wi-Fi witch sucks the only good thing about the mavic air is it avoids things and fly s around stuff that's it really compair it to the spark that more in it's field

I had a guy tell me you can't shoot professionally on a Mavic Air. I've done footage every bit as good as a P4P with my Mavic Air. Plus, when shooting in dense woods (or real estate surrounded by trees), that Phantom isn't going to fit in there.

Where is the place this shots were taken? The name of the city...

Are you absolutely blind to quality or did you just mix them up in the b roll? The P4 has much better image quality it’s not even a close competition. Phantom4 is flatter colors because it captures more raw data for you to color grade. Or you can directly change the color profile in the app before you capture. The air is likely pre saturated because DJI knows most air users aren’t color grading. It’s like comparing a great point and shoot camera in manual mode to a decent cell phone camera.

NoLongo and the mavic air is so small that a little bird can take it out of the sky not my phantom 4 also the mavic air sucks in strong winds and range my phantom 4 is a beast in the wind and has way better range

I never owned or used one of the drones but everything i saw from these cameras made me think the mavic air is superior when it comes to image quality. And yes i'm a filmmaker and know about color correction and grading. Just look at the details in the shots. The mavic air just looks cleaner and sharper and not so compressed like a cell phone video. And that is a fact. The mavic air captures video with 100mbps, the Phantom 4 only 60mbps... You can look it up on their website. And if you talk about the Phantom 4 Advanced and Phantom 4 Pro... that is a completely different story and they have other/better cameras but they are much more expensive and not part of this comparison...

How likely do you think it is the Mavic Pro II will have a 1-inch sensor? That's the rumor everyone seems to be quoting. Will you be shocked if it does? That idea is making me hold off purchasing my first done for a while, they say it's supposed to be announced next month. I like the idea of a 1-inch sensor for better photos as well as lower light videos.

personally from a business stand point, in order for DJI to keep their phantom series relevant I think they are going to keep the 1 inch sensor, mechanical shutter, and variable aperture exclusive to the phantom line. cause if they start throwing in 1 inch sensors in to their mavic line up then I think it will eat into their phantom sales.

PhilTheThrill I've watched hundreds of videos.. A lot of people who had the mavic pro standard ended up selling it after they got the Mavic air even though it had Wi-Fi instead of Accu sync. And everybody who owns the mavic pro prefers the Mavic air.

Yea I agree with him like what are the chances a bird will hit it I mean most of the time birds are very scared of anything that moves and the drone makes a lot of noise to so it will scare of most birds. I mean birds aren't that dumb.

PhilTheThrill It's really a crap very probably thousands and thousands of flights with the Maverick air and no issues. You can also Google MAVIC PRO, AND PHANTOM 4 GETTING ATTACKED BY A BIRD AND YOU'LL FIND IT HAPPENS TO THOSE ONES ALSO IT HAPPENS TO ANY DRONE IN THE AIR!! IT'S JUST VERY RARE WITH ANY DRONES!!!!! JUST YOU COULD SAY AIRPLANES IN THE SKY HAVE BIRDS THAT GO THROUGH THE ENGINES DOES THAT MEAN YOU NEED A DIFFERENT PLANE LOL IT MEANS IT HAPPENS ALMOST NEVER!!!!

colors seem to be better on the mavic air just because the only profile you can choose for it is by default oversaturated, while the phantom 4 doesnt have that problem

Magic air is a nice drone for the price but the longer flight time, MUCH greater signal range, and very close camera capabilities really lean in favor of the pro. 7km vs closer to 2km of the air in real world scenarios is a big deal to a lot of people. I'm used to a TBS discovery with an LRS system and 2.4 analog video so I don't think the air will come close to satisfying my long term flight needs.

John Pilgrim actually I get a consistent 4.5 km with no video feed issues on my air in the neighborhood. It also has backward vision sensors as well as better quick shot modes which is why I picked it, because it is much superior. And tiny

Cole Williams lets hope so because I just unpacked my new alpine white Mavic Air, charged everything up, and upgraded the firmware. Will be taking a test flight tomorrow if the weather permits. I tried to tell myself I didn’t need one but you know how that goes lol. I’ve watched a few videos the last couple of days with people getting 5km so I’m hopeful.

Good review. I picked up a P4 for $699 during Black Friday and it is the best drone I have every flown and I have flown quite a few of them. Saving my pennies for the new Pro or maybe the EVO if it ever gets released.

Rory Marion i,will,bet you a bird and wind,will,take your,drone down before my phantom 4,drone but the battery sucks and we need battery life so the mavic is not that great my ma if pro has great video and photos and range and is bigger then the air is what you need for the wind so the mavic pro is still the best drone compact I have no problem taking my mavic. Pro any were and Wi-Fi sucks the mavic pro is not Wi-Fi and my videos is great after 2 miles know one whant s video feed that break up and I have no problem controlling my phantom 4 in sports mode and if you study for your test the sensors on the phantom 4 has a bigger range of view unlike the mavic air witch sensors do not they got a smaller range of view look it up you will see phantom 4 is stronger bigger and way better camera and in winds the phantom 4 is a beast everyone profiting from reviews of the mavic air to promote the sell of it it's small and an ok drone

The Phantom shoots in a flatter picture profile, which is more geared for post production coloring options for professional filmmakers. The Mavic is more of a weekend Im having fun flying drone. The Phantom is for professional filmmakers.

It is flatter but has less detail (just 60mbps... the mavic air has 100mbps...)

I just watched your video again you said something very important.. I had to because you talk very fast LOL but your video still excellent. YOU SAID APERTURE WHICH IS HUGE.. If you have a 2.8 aperture that's going to suck in low light.. The Galaxy S7 Edge has a 1.7 aperture which is very good in low light... But the lower the aperture the more you get that portrait mode effect.. You mentioned dual aperture WHICH IS WHERE IT'S AT.. that's why the Galaxy S9 is awesome has a dual aperture of 1.5, and 2.4 Obviously 1.5 for low light which is excellent and 2.4 for bright light and it does it automatically... THERE'S NO REASON FOR ANY FLAGSHIP PHONE OR DRONE LIKE IN THE $700 RANGE NOT TO HAVE DUAL APERTURE ON THE CAMERAS!! Love Samsung and Android Flagship phones blows away the competition.. I'm a certified Computer and Network Engineer fix phones and computers with 30 years of electronic experience.. I Fix Apple computers and phones but I hate them to me there dinosaurs compared to the competition and just copy everybody now.. they're stripped down version of Unix is just so boring so they can save money on Hardware it's the same old crackers over and over again with Samsung making the screens, some of the processors in the memory.. BUT THAT'S A CONVERSATION FOR ANOTHER DAY ;)

hmmm the video quality of the AIR sucks a little bit...

Okay will everybody stop with the 4K video crap nobody has 4K phones, and the entire country maybe even the world probably about 80 to 90% still has 1080p televisions... This country is not adapting 4K quickly neither is broadcasting, sports or anything else using 4K is a waste of time if you don't have screens, televisions to show the resolution As a matter of fact if you're not close to a television you can't tell the difference between 4K and 1080p it's already been proven in a/ b tests Not to mention a lot of today's programming on television is really only 720P So I would say save your space and always use 1080P and you can get away with 720p and be just fine.. Why waste of space on your phone when it's not going to make any difference. You're showing as 4K but I'm watching it on a 2K phone so I don't see any difference.. 😂😂😉

Myron Jaymes Well if that's the case I guess it's cool but it shouldn't be the case. If you record in 1080P at 60 frames a second originally. That should always be better than scaling down. It's like making a copy of a copy.. Unless the camera itself doesn't do as well with 1080p but does better with 4K.. I've learned that not all 1080p cameras are the same in the same goes for 720p and 4K Same thing with televisions. If you buy a 4K television that is a budget television and then you buy a 1080p high quality television The 1080p picture will look better than 4K. And like I said and studies prove that the difference is only noticeable if you're close to a television so if you're close to your computer screen that has to be 4K or if you're close to your phone and your phone has to be 4K that's the only way you can really see a difference.. Me personally on KZread and other places I noticed no difference between 4K and 1080p at 60 frames per second.. I have the Galaxy S7 Edge ready to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 9 The Edge is a 2K screen Only a couple of phones are 4K and they're not catching on quick.. But if it works for you I guess that's cool I just don't know why everybody's freaking out about 4K who has drones.. I don't even think in the movie theaters date have many of them that have 4K either... It's just not catching on because as I said it takes up so much space and doesn't make that much of a difference... I think the industry might kind of skip 4K seeing that's not catching on and start making 8K televisions. That's my opinion. And I think the television industry will also adapt 8K quicker because going from 1080p to 8K should be a real difference....
