Me too, I was about to find his contact info to find out when he was going to release it. I love his in depth looks at things, and talking through what he's thinking. I got mine and have flown it a good while (and LOVE it. Manual mode is nuts), but will watch his in full anyway. BTW, this drone is fast. With some wind I hit 107+ mph and probably more (slow GPS polling rate). The OSD in the Goggles max out at 99.3 mph. Going to try keeping the lens cover on for aerodynamics and try another speed run.

Same same. I never find any of the other reviewers as engaging or as down to earth. Dustin just says things how it is, no overhyping or too much self-promoting. Can watch his videos on repeat no problems.

I paid $1,000 for mine... I bought the explorer combo with integra goggles. I also bought 1 extra battery. I love it

I’ve waited a long time for this one from you Dustin. Everyone else breeze through their review but I know that yours are thorough and excellent. There is so much for you to cover so I’m really glued to this series. I got mine a couple of days after the launch date and it’s still unopened in the box and wrapping. I’m waiting for the hard case from GPC to arrive before I open everything up. I’m looking forward to getting some flight time in on the simulator that DJI have launched specially for this drone. Keep up the good work.

Nice review!

Most interested in range test. They claim just over 16km and 20m flight time. I think you will only get that in slow mode. 8km out and 8km back should work fine within the stated 10km max range of the headset. You could test the 10km max range if you don't mind it landing short and going distance to pick it up.

I flew about 1.8 miles in sport before RTH kicked in. I get 7-8 mins of flight time in sport mode...14-15 in normal. 20 mins if you hover in no wind

Hey Dustin, you will find this interesting. The obstacle avoidance doesn't avoid obstacles or even stop the drone, it only slows it down, it will still keep going into the object. I know you will test this.

Again, great video. Warning to all newbies like me. Firmware update is required on almost all devices (Drone, Controllers and each battery you have). Also, connecting via your computer (Windows or iMac) makes the updates faster. Maybe one day you can go over each of the menu settings on the goggle? Would love your input and preferences.

Thanks Dustin. The only downfall with the braces are that it doesn’t fit in the new hard cases if they are fitted so I didn’t purchase them. They are a very tight snap fit so I imagine keep fitting them and removing them may cause a problem somewhere down the line but the idea of having them is probably very useful.

Good point Andy. Perhaps a case mod to the foam could accommodate the braces although I cant see the occasional swap damaging anything when removing them for more open flight. The drone plastic is very robust🍻

Thanks for the excellent review. DJI is truly committed to providing good quality, durable electronic goods to meet the needs of enthusiastic amateurs to skilled professional videographers. Their camera gimbals are a rock solid too. Note that this drone is great but DJI has higher tier drones to meet the needs of the pro's with triple redundancy for safety and performance.

In the Refresh small print, you will see the deductible is $250 for the 1st replacement, and it goes up from there. So your 1st replacement will cost $450. If you take the 2-yr plan for $320, 1st will cost $570. I can buy a whole new drone for $700...

easier to buy a 2nd hand drone, plenty on the market sub 250 now, happy days, so many noobs bought this drone and gave up before getting out of the sim lol, i just picked up a fly more kit with drone/goggles and both controllers for 700 euros, then bought another fpv for 240 with battery, both less than a month old.

Great Review ! One question: Is it possible to update at android device ? Or it works only with apple ? P.S. And It looks like you call dron battery LiPo, but I am sure they are Li Ion, they all same. May you check again, may be I am wrong, but I am sure LiPo battery not give that much fly time

Omg cool I like it

Always charge one battery at a time on the regular charger the basic kit comes with. After all batteries 🔋have been charged once each then you can charge all 3 on the multi pack charger.

For beginners, safer or indoor drone get the Avata. Experienced pilot and outdoors get the bigger one 🍻

I’m watching the video on my 4K tv and I noticed cracks or crack like marks just above the SD card slot door and off to the right side (audience point of view). Or am I imagining things? Chris from Vancouver.

You're right Chris. When I was editing I saw those. Seemed like molding line imperfections. They are not cracks when closely inspected 🍻

I had to do the same thing. Android phone and needed to use my ipad. My lesson was to check how it has to connect. Like the phone

Care refresh should be mandatory on this drone.

To use Android, put the adapter end to phone. Not sure why it matters but that's how I got it to work with Android.

Well I’m sorry to say they did put a screwdriver wrench combo thing in my packaging to put my arms on.

My iPad Air 2 won’t let me add motion controller

There needs to be a way to tether these to a permanent power source while you do updates.

FYI.. I had no problems activate and update my DJI FPV drone yesterday. Maybe you DJI Fly app is not updated. They do not have the DJI Fly app on the play store so the app will not update itself. And was not forced to close the app to cancel the Care refresh just had to press the x in the top corner

The problems I had here are legit issues for my device. I made sure fly app was fully updated. This is the second time care refresh seems to have corralled me into buying the option unless exiting the app with the devices I use 🍻

@@DustinDunnill i cannot say how works on ios I'm on android and had no problems.. but my biggest complaint is the android app is not available on the play store so need need to keep the app updated yourself.. maybe it's problem because have used and activated the fly app with older drones like the mini or air 2.. the dji fpv is my first drone using the DJI fly app

Hi Dustin I have chatted with you before I purchased the parrot disco. I like your tutorial videos and your knowledge of the product. Well I received the DJI fpv drone on June 16 and didn’t charge the battery’s til the next day. Followed your instructions and after I turned the drone battery I tried to turn on the goggles I pressed once then pressed and held the battery button after about 3 seconds the battery light indicator cut off and I repeated this over a hundred times and even tried turning on battery not connected to goggles. Contacted by email they couldn’t help said I had to call support didn’t only open Monday to Friday. So Monday I called and they said it was the battery so I went to DJI store ordered a battery the arm brace. It arrived last weekend charged the battery same thing happened. So I called this Monday they now want to send goggles and both battery’s back and they will look at it. They said it doesn’t show that I have activated my drone or purchased refresh care and I said I can’t because I can’t get my goggles to come on. Your opinion it has to be the goggles I don’t believe it’s the battery.

Hey Fred. I'd try another battery if you have one laying around from hobbies. You can use a 2s or 3s with the supplies cable. It's hard to believe you got 2 bad batteries but I guess it could happen 🍻

@@DustinDunnill I have a 3s 2200 battery’s for my planes with ez 5 connects but I don’t know how to solder. Could you try to turn on your goggle battery with it not connected to your goggles. My fear is DJI will try and charge me to fix goggles and hold me hostage to get them back. Maybe I will buy another battery I’m looking at at least 2 weeks to maybe over a month to get them back.

Yes, it turns on with a press, press hold like the drones do. Even if battery is not plugged into goggles.

You do NOT need an apple device lol. My Droid works great with the app for updates. It won't avoid obstacles, it will slow down but if you keep pushing the sticks it will for sure collide lol.
