And oldie that keeps on delivering. It is such a reliable and good camera! I still use it. Did you see my recent video about Davinci Resolve 18.5 where I show how to mKe it look like a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses, in just a fee clicks, inside resolve and with real time playback? That to me is a game changer!!

I use the Pocket 2 a lot for my videos, travel show etc. I have the action 3 and insta360 x3 but def for other reasons. I really hope they come up with a pocket 3 with awesome upgrades. I would totally buy it.

Omg Im from thailand and I really do appreciate your video. I really enjoy wathcing and learning a lot of insight from this vid and the ND filter vid. I-almost waste money buying it for action 4. Haha. And the fact that you made a comparison toward pocket is 2 is incredible! I didnt notice before that pocket 2 could almost beat action 4 in many aspect despite it 3 years ago! Havent brought action 4 yet but you had my sub! Really like how you compared and really tell the truth in many aspect! Great video and it really got me thinking to which I need more, as I use for vlogging the 2 would be better most the time but living in the UK its always raining and i do paddle boarding too at times so its kinda made me choose that i need to both for best of both worlds I think. thank you for a great video

From the original osmo to the 4? Well, I think the quality should be significant but I don't own an original osmo, I can't really tell. There should be some video/s on youtube comparing them, no? Let me know, I would be keen to know too!

Interesting review. I’ve been using the action 4 for the last few weeks and had been wondering g if I should have gotten the pocket instead. I have a very high end Sony a6600 but I film indoors a lot in malls. Well carrying around a huge camera is just going to attract security. I also need a wider angle than my Sony can get. So I’ve been using my iPhone 12 Pro Max wide angle but the low light and stabilization isn’t great. Oh and those lens flares yikes. So enter the action 4. I found it interesting that you said it won’t work for traditional filming. I filmed an entire mall where a lot of it was outside in 80 degrees. I shot 1-2 min clips and the camera never overheated. The wide angle was great. One thing I’ve noticed is that if you have a bright sky but a darker subject like a storefront it struggles to make them both visible. Usually the darker subject comes out underexposed. So now that I’m getting the iPhone 15 pro max maybe I won’t need any of the DJI cameras. Do you think the DJI pocket is wide enough for filming indoors? I may wait for the pocket 3 and see how the new iPhone cameras are. Again thanks for the comparison it was great.

The Pocket 2 standard lens cannot compete with the wide angle from the action 4. But you can add a wide angle lens to the P2 that will widen the field of view. Never a 155 degree field of view as with the a4, but definitely wider. The 15 pro and pro max hve a 13mm ultra wide. That is a nice lens in bright day time conditions, it could be a good option. Definitely a possibility and if you add a gimbal to it, you’ll get really smooth shots regardless, although for walking shots the built-in stabilisation should be good enough, it would be awkward to long term walking and holding the phone without the wrists and fingers feeling it. Let’s hope when the pocket 3 it is a genuine upgrade. It would be great if the same accessories that you can use on the P2 could be use on the P3, it would save a lot of money to a lot of people…

@@SamuelSotiega I never shot more than 10-60 seconds at a time when walking and filming with my iPhone. I never really had a problem getting stable footage unfortunately the wide angle lenses in the 12 pro max is very soft and not good in low light. Here’s hoping the 15 pro max is an improvement. As for using a gimbal with my iPhone. Well I have one and then it makes it very obvious your filming and it’s almost as big as my much better Sony camera. Like I said before unfortunately I can’t get a decent wide angle with my Sony since it’s apsc micro 4/3 and has a crop in video so even the widest of lenses will not be so wide with the crop. So far I’ve been mixing the footage from my action 4 and Sony a6600 and as long as you have good lighting the footage matches well. Obviously the action 4 still looks like a tiny sensor camera but for what it is I’m surprised at how good it is even at filming non action footage.

Hello Samuel, I'm watching your video from Chile, I'm currently working on several professional projects for which I usually use a Sony a6500, most of the things I do are interviews with people on soccer fields (I work with small sports clubs) although With the Sony camera I get good results, I want to start taking panoramic shots of the children training and the field to contextualize the interviews more without having to carry my Weebill S stabilizer, I am thinking of purchasing a Pocket 2 to take these panoramic shots in a way quick and easy to include them in the final assembly. Do you think the difference between the shots from the Sony and the DJI is very noticeable? I want to maintain a professional level and in my mind this idea at least works quite well but I am afraid that the shots will create discordance.

Samuel thank you i asked you do make this video and you delivered Im still unsure which to buy do you think the pocket 3 will be compatible with the creators kit like the two i film trains lineside and also do railway journeys and model exhibitions i use a camcorder for the lineside work with a 90x zoom and the andriod phone for the travel videos and exhibitions If you cant advise me which one to buy then please could some of your veiwers give me there opinions as i cant buy both Thank you again for making this video Hasta Luego mi amigo 😊

I think at this stage nobody knows if the front lens will be the same size as the P2. I would love if the accessories would be still usable because you invest on those as much as you do on the actual camera. All I can say is that just as I am waiting for the 15 pro max to make some videos that can inform viewers if it is the right phone to buy, I will do the same when the Pocket 3 is announced. I just hope they deliver, whenever they release it….

Thanks for chipping in. I will start my videos on the pocket 3 next week (I take delivery on Monday so allow a few days for testing, using and making the initial video) and I will do a few. so rest assured a Pocket 2 vs Pocket 3 and P3 vs Action 4 is on the cards!!

The P2 is a gimbal already, can’t get better than that. It is pretty good. If you attach the A4 to a gimbal the stabilisation will be amazing, but as you say, the size might make it less attractive and practical than a P2. Or Pocket 3 when it comes out!!

I just sold my Pocket 2 and now use the Action 4. Great as the Pocket 2 is I find the Action 4 just so easy to use and just so easy to just drop in a pocket for that unexpected moment. Personally I found the screen rather small on the Action2 but no doubt not a problem for others. Best of both worlds is to have both if you can I guess ! Wish the pocket 2 was more robust then it would be a hard choice.

I agree with you. The ideal would be to have both, one used as action cam and the other one as a traditional camera… it all depends on what each person likes most…

I filmed straight out of camera auto and once uploaded to KZread (on my other channel), family and friends can't tell the difference between DJI Pocket 2 and an iPhone 13 Pro in daylight nature.

I need a DJI pocket two and DJI action for combined to have the perfect camera. In the meantime, I guess if you filmed in log and color graded or added a lut on on the OA4 and inly in daylight, for a novice creator and standard viewer, its prolly similar to iPhone and Pocket 2 once uploaded to KZread.

If I don't need the latest is the pocket 2 still viable and is the creator combo really compulsory?

I love the P2 and yes, it is a kick ass set up. To me, personally, the creator's combo is essential because you not only get a wireless. mic, but the do-it-all handle allows you then to wirelessly connect to your phone and view and control the gimbal and camera remotely. This is helpful if you do any filming of sports or use it as an action cam, or if you want to set up any shots remotely. But if that is not important to you, the P2 in itself is brilliant.... But if you can stretch to the creator's combo, you won't be disappointed.

I personally think that is a very good choice. And if you want your P2 look like a DALR or mirrorless camera, watch a recent video I did on davinci resolve 18.5 and how you can now blur the background and get real time playback. It is super helpful and so fast. I think that would be helpful, no?

The pocket 2 100%! The actioj cam is what it says, and actioncam. You can do a little bit of vlogging but it overheats and for standard filming, the P2 is much better and functional. And you don’t need to worry about it overheating within 15-20 minutes of standard static filming, as you do with the actioncam. The action 4 needs the cooling you get from filming an activity. I think I mentioned this in the video…

The overheating issue only occurs on the OA4 sold in Europe due to the regulation that cameras should shut down when the its temperature exceeds 48 deg C. There is a video on KZread withe the instructions and patch file to solve the issue.

I don’t have a 14 pro max but I still prefer the P2 to the 13 pro max. I am waiting for the 15 pro max to arrive so check back on mw in a few weeks and I can let you know how it compares to the 15 pro max..

Action cams keep coming out with new versions of stable steady etc but it’s all still just pushing digital stabe further extreme but it always has trade offs. Pocket gimbal wins hands down.

I wish the Pocket 3 is on the corner. Some leaks went out on internet recently, looks like it's a little bigger than before. C'mon DJI, I wanna upgrade to that from my OP back from 2019 lol. It's a great camera but a refreshment with today's tech is a must.

It is outstandingly good!! 4@3 years on and it is still so, so current, reliable and giving great footage. One of the best investments anyone could make in terms of camera… Small but mighty!

Action 4 is much better 😂 pocket 2 is well over due. Idk why you try to say or make up 1 little cons about the action 4 in every features they both have. I think your just glazing pocket 2 very very hard🤣

Did you actually watch the video at all? I don't just say things, i show them. And I gave both cameras equal plus and minus. Plus I state the obvious, either camera is great for what they are intended, and none of them are good to do what the other one was designed for. That to me, also, makes perfect sense. Please watch the video before you make a comment
