What’s up Kevin, another great vid! I also have some sales background and I was always taught to use the same pitch every time but I have had some consistency issues with it, do you have a set pitch you use every time or do you just let it flow?

@@Trujiyano this is kind of THE question, I generally let it flow like a conversation, always trying to hit those main points but not rush to them. Let it be more of a vibe check than anything, of course touch on services but we as DJs are truly the service, so let that shine through! Hope that answers your question!

Thanks man! Yeah I think sometimes I over think it. I’m going to try and to just write down the keys questions I as the Dj need answered and during the convo if we don’t arrive at those questions naturally then I’ll ask those more directly towards the end.

Kevin! I like the creativity meeting idea for several reasons. It nudges them to begin choosing their important songs. It helps me to get a better idea of their vision and learn more about their preferences because they've already chosen me as their DJ. One of my struggles is getting clients to fill out their planning forms, and this is a warm way to nudge them.

So I do something similar but no google sheets. My first meeting “sales meeting” I take my iPad, buy the couple some drinks, and we go at it. First we talk about life, what they do, what their passions are, how they met. They might ask how I got started in this, or anything about me…. Then we go through a typical wedding timeline, and what I’m doing throughout those moments of the wedding. We then talk about the starter email I send them once they book that goes through absolutely all the must have formalities and specifics on songs. At this time we go specific about their wedding, their flow, musics they like, enhancements they’re interested in. Roughly 2 hours later I pay for drinks and give them time to make a decision… the whole time I’m writing notes on Notability about them, the venue, their guest count… everything. It’s your creativity meeting and sales meeting all at once. 9 out of 10 times they book. We’ve established a connection, already found out we want to work with one another or not, and know a ton of information already before we ever get started.
