His purpose of chopping and slowing down songs was to enhance your thoughts and was to make you really feel it like how he felt it. when people are on drugs and are born with mental problems thoughts, visions, and sounds are enhanced x10 sometimes and he was one of those people that really wanted you to feel how he thought and perceived things. He definitely wanted to show and prove how different his thinking was then others in the world. and him being different caused him to be successful and caused him to make his own genre. RIP to Dj Screw, a real southern ass nigga from Houston, TX who expressed how his mind worked through music. People like him are amazing and talented in there own ways. Its sad he died so young do to drugs because he created something that people really liked and felt. the whole chopped and screwed thing will always live on forever. Its been about 20 yrs later and the chopped and screwed/slowed down remixing thing is still popular. Dj Screw is honestly a Southern Hip Hop legend and his music really makes you think in crazy and amazing ways when you listen to it.
