@Andrew Shingange Its Northern Ndebele, spoken by the Ndebele of Zimbabwe. Northern Ndebele is closely related to the Zulu language, spoken in South Africa. This is because the Northern Ndebele people of Zimbabwe descend from followers of the Zulu leader Mzilikazi (one of Zulu King Shaka's generals), who left the Zulu Kingdom in the early 19th century, during the Mfecane, arriving in present-day Zimbabwe in 1839. Northern Ndebele is spoken by roughly 1.6million Zimbabweans. Although there are some differences in grammar, lexicon and intonation between Zulu and Northern Ndebele, the two languages share more than 85% of their vocabulary. Linguists argue between Northern Ndebele being a separate language or a dialect of Zulu. Of interest is the fact that Northern Ndebele and Southern Ndebele (spoken by the Ndebeles in South Africa, also apparently known as Transvaal Ndebele), are separate but related languages with some degree of mutual intelligibility. However, Northern Ndebele as spoken by Zimbabwean Ndebeles is more closely related to Zulu than it is to Southern Ndebele. Southern Ndebele, while maintaining its Nguni roots, apparently has been greatly influenced by the Sotho languages. This hymn is originally Shona but has had some of the sentences interpreted into Ndebele. You are welcome, 😊

@AfrikanEagle the lyrics actually says how can l travel this road wch has thorns that prick....pfugama unamate (kneel down and pray). There are 2 languages sang here Shona from Zimbabwe and Zulu from South africa, The song is actually of Zim origins which was and is still sang at funerals its a very sad song but yes times change now they groove wth it.
