You had to be there to truly understand how special this era of music was. When Jungle hit the pirate radio airwaves it blew everyone away. It was a genuine movement. House, Trance, Techno had their followings but they were not movements. The unique and distinct blend of Jungle fused cultures with high end electronic /digital production like nothing else. Reggae, Jazz, Hip-Hop samples, Trip-Hop loops, Funk and Soul hooks riffs and grooves. These exclusive drum patterns are accompanied by experimental melodies, rough and ready vocals or angelic voices. This sound brought people together like no other. There were no mobile phones, just psychedelic/graffiti street art flyers you would get from your favourite Record shop. You would dress for comfort because you know you are gonna get messy and sweaty haha. Jungle Music created a TRIBE. My TRIBE. I travelled to places I never heard of before to listen to subs as big as Wardrobes and fall asleep on some stranger's sofa on Sunday afternoon, £127 overdrawn, 67p in my back pocket, a missing coat, one cigarette, some wet rizlas and empty clipper lighter. Haha . The best of days!

I can tell you are British because it seems you have no idea what was happening back then in Europe. Techno and no movement? If you want to find out what a movement looks like look up Love Parade, Mayday and Thunderdome. There were millions of us all united with the same passion for beats. Jungle and d'n'b scene never even get close to what the techno & rave European movement looked like. We were all recognizing each other in the streets in any country you would go to. The true definition of European Union.

I was there back in the 90’s when all these tunes were playing in the clubs, laser drome Peckham rye, one nation, the roast, sw1, adrenaline village chelsea, equinox, to name a few, good times, never had any bother with anyone, everyone was loved up, very fond memories ❤ I’m 52 this year 2023 and these tunes just took my back to my 20’s, much love all crews ❤

That DJ Rap tune Get Raw at 35.50sec was essentially the switch between Jungle to Drum n Bass back in 1993 remember it being on Hype at Obsession Innovation November 1993!! Classic tune!!

Man I lost this CD like over 20 years ago, I can not believe this just popped up in my recs. What a world, Lion heart Massive never dies.

Takes me back to being young free and single. Jungleist.. 1990 .15 .48now and listening to this great mix spring 2924. Jungle all the way

I miss going to the Konkrete Jungle in NYC on Monday nights for the longest running weekly Jungle party. When we had Raves in the 90's back in NY there was always a dark and dingy jungle room at every party, tucked away in a back corner.... that was my happy place! The Tunnel in NYC, upstairs weaving in and out of hallways until you got to that jungle/ hip hop room. I didnt realize the talent i was seeing there on a regular basis until much later on! Those were some of the best times.
