    You seem a bit dissapointed. The crowd needed much time to go warm up. Maybe a lot of them had to go home early. It’s not always your fault. You did a great job! I do think you could have made a bigger impact with more subs and much stronger moving heads. With those bright lightbars the movers seem to be overwhelmed.

    The circuit tester is a good add to the kit, but I would pair it with something like the klein tools fuse finder. Also I always like to make sure myself or one of the techs knows amd has access to the location of the fusebox and light controls of the location

    I love how high school dances today pretty much consists of music that older Millennial generation was listening to in high school and college. Basically, most of the good danceable music is from 13 to 20+ years ago.

    I did DJ for a school disco this weekend. It is my one DJ gig a year as it is a hobby for me. I use VirtualDJ and Soundswitch, and I not only have my own lights (a couple of small movers, pars, a bar and pinspots) but I also integrate the lights the school has in the hall. Makes for a great light show to go with the music.

Great video as always very instructive, i want to ask you how you did the config for delayed speakers? i have a PA2 but it only have a max of 3,43 meters of delay and in the video looks like if the speakers were furthest, how did you calculate distance or ms to apply? and PA" was enough in this case? it would be great if you can explain or better do a video about it thank you!!

    Rick, awesome gig log again. Love the pix bar lights. I saw a video a month ago where you used the A.I force 1 dmx hardware. I’m working with a xz, rekordbox and dashlight 5 at the moment and for smaller gigs lightrider. I’m searching something more easier and faster to use than dashlight. Did you like force 1. How does it did the job with movers? Is it something like lightrider or better? I wish I could switch to soundswitch but its in Serato environment. I’m planning to buy those pix bar at your website.

  • @DJILLEE

    @DJILLEE

    8 ай бұрын

    @@voxproevents6405 reverberation time time is measured using the RT60 measurement. You use a sound meter to measure when a reverberation tail drops by 60db from the original source sound. That means the starting point is irrelevant. It’s independent of the sound pressure level. In fact, when the source volume can’t be amplified enough or the background noise level is too high we use a measurement of RT30 or RT20 and you multiply it by 2 or 3 respectively to get your RT60 rating. My background (besides being a dj) is in sound engineering, system deployments and system tuning. I tune large sound systems for theaters and concert venues and I measure everything in in the venue for phase/time alignment, reverberation times, reverberation frequency plots and overall eqs for the system processors. I even create impulse responses of the particular rooms so if recordings made in those rooms need parts re-recorded in a studio you can “place” those parts back in the room with the original recordings. Line arrays would be a better choice in this type of room so you can throw the sound further backwards, direct the sound away from reflective surfaces such as the ceiling and possibly walls, as well as shade it from front to back. With a line array you most likely wouldn’t need delay towers in that size of room. However, schools do not have this kind of budget and for the most part, no one cares that much about the audio quality to even justify this there. With what he had, I think this deployment is just fine.

    Something to note about that circuit tester, just because it shows that they are both on the same circuit doesn't actually mean they are on the same. All it is testing is if the hot side is independent between 2 circuits. But it can't test wether they are independent on the same leg. Because when testing 2 outlets it will only show if the circuit 'good' if they are on different sides of the breaker box. If the outlets may be on the same side of the breaker box and are separate circuits yet the tester will show that it is not an individual circuit. Two independent circuits on the same leg is no different for us than on different legs. Problem is, using that device can make someone hunt around for one it shows is separate and make longer unnecessary power runs. It works but misses separate circuits at least 50% of the time depending on the main feed into the building. They admitted to me that it has the limitations I just mentioned and never thought someone would figure it out.

    Kinda like the pixel bars. The blinders being on battery alone is a pretty nice add, though don't think this was the right use of them. Probably would have helped to speed them up, too. A crowd like this you've gotta give them mic work. You saw the reaction when you did. They needed guidance, and the people in the back needed some connection with them being so far away. They were clearly ready to rage, you just had to find that connection with them. And do a little more research on the new music they like - some missed opportunities unless the school said outright you couldn't play them, but given you dropped Mo Bamba...I doubt it.
