Of course the nostalgia of this evokes a lot deep emotions for the older generation and is automatically appreciated by them but we built to this outlive us and leave a legacy of the music we love. Sharing our culture and history to the new generations and to people across the world who never had an opportunity to hear the unsung heroes of the underground as well as the raise to fame by the legends in the scene. Without pirate radio the birth of many scenes and their explosion wouldn't have happened. These are the very foundations that we give thanks for. We probably went to the same raves bro!! Leisure Lounge in Holborn was epic!! Also loved Camden Palace and SW1. Also reached down to the sticks in Epping to get down to the Country Club and that was slamming there I would raving next Rio Ferdinand sipping on my drink busting some moves. Truly blessed to have experienced those days especially in the wake of all the restrictions now. We had no restrictions apart from dressing smart. I remember no trainers at Garage events, dressing well looking sharp and dapper. No smart phones, no selfies, people sparking up indoors. Good times they were. Big up all the old school ravers!! Raising a glass to you all!!

@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio yeah mate saw rio a few times as it goes , and that Bruce dyer who played for palace, yeah the epping forst country club, twice as nice at the colly, which wasn't really that far from where I'm from SE London, upfront fm did raves there as well , the best nights truly was all up at LA COSA NOSTRA, IN THE OLD CAMDEN PALACE , also the Xmas 98 when he did one in the new connaught rooms Covent garden , that was best night, had nigel Ben on the decks and Steve Jackson. From 97 going freek n you for the first time at 17 and then the pure silk bash that was supposed to be at Wembley but cancelled last minute on New Years ,gas club all through 98,then ayia napa raving,not forgetting heartless crew,mc preshus,mc two tone..96 up to 2004 was a wonderful time in my life

They were the best times growing up!! Care free times, no smart phones, no smoking bans, dress to impress, everyone looking dapper, less red tape about sound pollution, more clubs open, drinks weren't as expensive and entry fees weren't as extortionate as nowadays. The pirate radio was slammin'. We were spoilt for choice. Big up for the comment!!

Y2K FM was massive!!! 90.6 FM was always a big dial from the Pulse FM days.

@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio totally agree mate 👍 we stopped doing Raindance in 93 so I was at the birth of house and garage over here was going Gas club on a week night and the way the whole house and garage scene grew it was a joy to be a part off I've always said for me the golden years of garage are 93 to 97 everyone had money the vibes were amazing the girls were unbelievable and the whole scene was just growing and growing fantastic times and good on people like keeping it alive so salutes sir 🙌

I can see you feel passionately about the music as we do. 1993 is were it all started for me with raves and proper getting into Hardcore music. My brother's generation was Acid House and Sound Systems which also epic but slightly before my time. Looking back the amount of quality music that was being made and supported by the pirates was immense. The rave scene was married to pirate radio, they were virtually inseparable. Big up all the connoisseurs like yourself. Maximum respect!

We are interested in that. We have no Midlands pirate stations on this channel not because we don't want it but we hoping to build on that a launch in one whole section and give coverage, but sadly we don't have enough to go with. But there's a lot food for thought and it's good that presently the scales are tipping where it's not all London focused. The Jungle scene really bridged a lot communities before with London, Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Wolverhampton all linking up and Garage had it element too. Big up for the comment.

I'd tune in my mums car when we were out and I had a coat hanger for an aerial for the system in my bedroom to get their stuff recorded to cassette :) Waiting for the latest craig david/artful dodger to be dropped before craig david was even popularly known.
