Many people call themselves DJs these days, when all they do is fade tracks from a laptop. So happy that the original breed of DJs still lives on.

Honestly, vinyl was CONSTRUCTED to withhold it's integral form, so it can withstand overall wear. Whew! 😣 Basically, with all things, they don't wear down with regular playing, but much more with "cuttin' & scratchin'". If ANY DJ wants to mix with them, and get butts on the dance floor, MORE POWER TOO YOU!!! 💖
This man is still liking comments. legend

+Harry D. Well. There are more and more possibilities of automating some of the moves and all is left to do is pressing a button for an analogical process. (Of course for beat matching programs are still in their child days, but improvements are on their way).

As a guitarist of many years i've never really given much thought to Turntablism (not out of any notion of disrespect or anything) . Never saw it hands on like this and god damn that just blew my mind. that sounded incredible and there was so much going on, i think i would like to try my hand at learning this. very inspiring.

It’s such a rush it’s like a drug when your physically manipulating the music and when the speakers are loud and your moving that music through the air ! Man it’s so amazing feeling and when people who hear it love it even better . The opposite of that is when you mess up a mix and it crushes you cause it doesn’t match and it’s like ahhhhhh like a punch to the face but this guy man he’s on point the entire time no bad mix no skips no nothing
This content aged very well, you could easily pass this video as being uploaded in 2022
This video is 8+ years old and I see comments hours and days ago! Shows that people still like skilled musicians and crisp turntabism.

Nothing better than some old school RECORD SCRATCHING!!!
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is a real mix!!! A true dj.
Complete. Needle drop stickers all over the records, static burns from practicing in the same spot over & over again. Switching real vinyl. Adjusting volume. Tweaking the pitch shift. Juggles, scratching & mixing. No effects with buttons. All with the hands. No pre-production, which is what all the battles have become now; leading to👉who has the best engineer/producers & has to do the least amount of work during the battle. I SINCERELY miss the days of a TRUE battle hardened turntablist. Stoked to see some still keep it alive!!!!!

Imagine this 500 years after, itll be classic will be taught in schools
DJ Angelo, thank you for keeping the real art of turntablism. I feel very proud when I see pros like you who kept the original sound of analog scratching on two chanel mixer. As a former DJ myself, I used analog Stanton, KAM and Vestax tables and 4 chanel Behringer mixer or 2 chanel Rane mixer and I scratched the shit of my tables during my gigs in Bulgaria. I stayed away from Final Scratch and Serato. I played my gigs by memory , knew each single record, where to drop the needle, where was the break. I played 1980s break beat, techno, house, UK classics from Tony Thomas to Frankie Knuckles and John Digweed. Please, keep the art of analog dj- ing alive and please keep making more mixes like these , they sound innovative and fresh.Much respect from USA .
Dat rythm switch on the vocal sample at 4:00 is just masterful
4:18 Sampling the whistle from "(Sittin on) The Dock Of The Bay" By Otis Redding like that is the type of shit DJing and sampling were made for. What a perfect touch.

Nice! I haven't seen no one do this on real vinyl in a while. lot of Dj's use Virtual dj and serato and other programs which nothing is wrong with that but to see someone change up records in their set is a whole different game and he's not looking at a laptop while he's doing it. Now you got special effects mixers and whatever, this was refreshing.
I first saw this 4 years ago but keep coming back to it. It's still an amazing set to watch!

Mike Cola because he has skills and all no doubt but this is not music which you can dance to, PRODUCERS like Martin Garrix tiesto KSHMR earn that much because they PRODUCE danceable music which people actually like to listen. I hope you know why I’m emphasising on PRODUCERS.

I can't get enough of this, you should do more videos like this. You're so good
I used to love turntablism, then it got too complex, technical and all about speed, I love future tech an moving things forward but sometimes we should jus appreciate funky grooves and awesome dedication and skills that goes into this with jus vinyl and a crossfader. I smiled all through this, might have to watch some classic kentaro now
THIS IS COLD! Got his scratch points marked. Professional!

Vinyl and record marks. Thank you for keeping it real.
no custom wax.... this is what im talking about. OLD SCHOOL!!!! i love it!!!!!
I just realized something. Funky Turntablism is the final exam once you've finished all his Scratching Tutorials!
My ninja..... this brings memories back to mind when honeys wore big hoop earrings cut off shorts and had big behinds....Adidas striped the feet and Kangol sat a top fat rop chains with a boombox in hand that would have you stop. This is a story best saved later only grown folks could understand this grape 80s flavor. Mucho peace.
The tape on the record as a cue point. maaan!, my era of djing, no digital markers. Quite simply a masterclass in pro djing/turntablism. The guys now are great at what they do in the digital age -but this is a demonstration of raw skills which I feel has been lost within the technology availiable making a lot of the skills that used to set you apart from the amateur dj, and the reason why you were a club dj in the first place, obsolete. Still, BRILLIANT SKILLS angelo. I watch this vid often and completely appreciate the skill. thanks for posting like 6 years ago!!
Hell yea that's that real old school style way to keep it real
Honestly, I've learned more about djing from this video than a whole lot of tutorials
I remember watching your tutorials when I was 13, I'm currently 26. Keep shredding it!
that is the best turntablism i've ever seen so far on youtube. So groovie, funky!! i need more of this, thanks!!

Turntablism has always been underground. Why do you think all the videos are from small dark halls filled with a few loud rowdy people? Like DJ revolution said about the state of the current battle scene (DMC, threestyle) they deserve to be competing against each other, but I am trying to maintain faith in youth, that they can see the nuance in the musicality of the supposedly "simple" set, and can see the ways to take it further. Real recognise real, but it is hard to hear music when everyone is shouting so loud
I never get tired watching this set
