That's my man Ed Cherry he's cooking. I never expect that from him coz most of his playing he is chilled but here he is doing something else.

Well Dizzy G and Clarke Terry are both trumpeters and they are the scat kings when it comes to vocalise,, dexterity, and speed. Ed Cherry definitely impressed George Benson and they were both magnificent! The drummer and bassist were stupendous keeping that 300 BPM + tempo for 13:15 AMAZING! Hirt and Henderson displayed their virtuosity and aplomb. A 5 star live performance!

Damnit. That Dizzy Gillespie is great as by the fact that he really knows how to come out with a newly different style. And especially with the help with George Benson, and as both together, they both can make the both mixture sound of a wildly savage uncivilized mixture of a newly stylish especially jazzy beebob funky jazz upbeats, that they've both make it great together in both different of a mixture of a characteristic sounds on their own newly beebob jazzy style as of whatever newly style they' will, and can come out. And also in a mixture of a bluesy beat style.

@@paulgibby6932 idk, I agree with JC. Have you seen the other video of this performance on A Night In Tunisia? Al Hirt steps on Benson's solo break while laying eggs all over the changes. Imo on this concert Al is extremely uncomfortable and out of his element. I think the Bumblebee reference was less of a quote and more just him falling back on something he had under his fingers. Al Hirt was the trumpeter that originally inspired me to play after hearing him do the green hornet theme. But after watching and listening to the two videos of this concert it's impossible to ignore he's lost and uncomfortable with bebop. Watch it again with that perspective & I bet you'll see it...
