Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Replaced my rockers on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with some 2x5 rectangle tube. Hope it helps someone with their rockers! Thank for watching.

Pretty cool. I have been looking for options form the rockers and rear of the front fenders on my ZJ....this is the perfect option....and cheap to do.

Call me old fashioned, but this is the way I prefer to watch videos. 1. Where a jeep already has a problem already. 2. Fabrication to fix the problem. 3. Although not winning any filming contest, definitely good enough filming and edit to convey wtf is actually going on. 4. Not having the worst music or endless ranting about stuff that doesn't matter. Nice job man, much appreciated. I have a WK jeep, but I am using this video to help complete my project.

Great work. I have the same Jeep. And my passenger rocker panel is rusted. This is a great idea.

Nice work! I'm planning a similar repair on my 1994 ZJ and have a choice between 1/4" or 1/8" 2x6 from my local supplier (3/16 is not in stock, special order, with no commitments on when it will be available). Is 1/4" overkill for daily driver + occasionally trail blazing? Likewise, would 1/8" be sufficient for an upgrade that doesn't over-stress the rest of the Jeep? I plan on reinforcing a few jacking points, but other than that, don't expect it to take a beating. Your thoughts?

1/8 is alot stronger than most expect it to be for some basic trail riding it will be perfectly fine and its already much stronger than the factory sheet metal no need for 1/4 in your case

That adds some major side crash protection too....with the addition of the frame supports that is.

Sharing this video with anyone who asks about side steps or rockers for WK’s as well since the market is scarce and products are not pretty whatsoever. I recommend 2”x6” or 2”x 8” square tubing like this for WK’s. 2”x8” so that you can use Hi-Lift jacks for easier recovery with the body/doors contour and avoiding the Hi-Lift being at an angle.

That's a great idea. Just stumbled on this page but I have a zj too. Do you have a video of the braces added?

Is that 1/4" square tube? My sliders are rusted just as bad as yours was. I'm thinking I'll do exactly what you did in this video. Such a clever idea.

I’ve cut mine out but need to weld the material back in. I’m going with 2x6 though so it creates a bit of a rock slider too. The way I’m planning on doing it will be a bit of a twist so keep an eye on my channel for that coming up soon.

I am preparing to do this on my ZJ. How did you attach the front fenders down at the rock sliders? I cut my rusty rocker panels off, but stopped at the front fenders. I haven't seen anyone cover that yet. If you cut them, there are no fasteners down there. Looks good! Thanks!
