    Thank you all for watching & supporting this mini-series! 😇 ALSO, a bonus tip! As Kara from Patreon suggested, the pin cushion might be a bit more comfortable if you put a small amount of cushion between the lid and your wrist - glue some folded over fabric or batting to the bottom of the lid (which can be upcycled from old shoulder pads or bras just as in the 2nd episode!) 💖 Just remember to increase the length of your elastic slightly to allow for this! (P.s. I don't find this one uncomfortable myself, but I know that'll vary for different people!) Here's the link to the entire Scrap Fabric playlist so you can watch them all! kzread.info/head/PLc7j7scDMOacSIRb4RrWFZfSemp4OEDp8

    Nu! I wish this series was longer, it has given me some really good ideas for smaller and quicker things I can make as I can't sew for long periods of time due to my health. It's also both good for the environment and my wallet as I can't afford lots of material but I can afford to buy little scraps once I am out of any I have. Plus I really need a wrist mounted pin cushion! And didn't you use a hot glue gone to glue the little pencil case earrings or did you find some really good clear glue if so what was it mine never dries that clear!

  • @AnnikaVictoria24

    @AnnikaVictoria24

    lol omg those earrings, such shammmmme hahaha. Nah I used clear craft glue for those :P I am not sure on the brand, just "craft glue"?? And I'll definitely try and do more scrap fabric tutorials :) I'm also hoping to do a "sick day DIY" series (next year!!! Fingers crossed!!) which will be filled with smaller, easier to do projects that can all be done sitting comfy on the couch/in bed! ^_^

    Omg! I can't wait for that so I have all fingers, toes, legs and limbs crossed! Okay I'll keep an eye out for some better glue anyway - maybe in the UK we have different glue standards with our health and safety and all! Really enjoyed the video and hope you have had a good day! Also don't expect the internet to ever forget those earrings, although they were still a million times better than anything I could make that is that tiny! It looked so fiddly! Still very pretty though in concept even if you weren't so happy with how they turned out! Thank you for taking the time to reply x

    This is great! I made myself a wrist pin cushion too, and found that using clean, raw wool as a filler (left over from spinning and needle felting) worked well as the lanolin in the wool keeps my pins very lightly oiled. Also, I put a piece of steel wool inside to sharpen my pins every time I stab them into the pin cushion! I love this series so so much.

    I remember some of my mother's pin cushions had sand in them I think with this was because the pins used to be less rust proof. You also use them longer and the sand helped keep them Sharp.

    Right on time when you need it. Maybe that should be your motto. I was getting ready to try to find a tutorial on this exact item, and you bring it right to the forefront. I was able to make a quick wrist pincushion in about 30 minutes, and it was just as easy to make as you showed it. I love it, and I love the way you describe the steps in all of your videos. Super simple to follow and make. Please keep them coming, as not only do they teach your viewers how to make an item, but they are also extremely entertaining. Thank you for making sewing fun, easy, and entertaining.

    There's still so much that can be done for this series! Using scrap fabric (stuffed with lint from your dryer) to make cat toys, or larger scraps to make hair wraps (the ones that you twist your hair into and secure with a button and elastic behind your head), even wrist cushions at your computer for your keyboard or mouse. I'm still learning to sew but find your videos so helpful and entertaining, thank you for the awesome content and keep it up! You always have a fan with me :)

    for the bigger scraps you could make an Amish knot rag rug, or mini drinks coasters in the same way, they look really cool and you can use whatever fabric at any length as long as it can be joined to another piece

    I got a great idea for you when I was washing laundry the other day! My grandmother gave me some pot holders when I moved into my new place and one of them had a little hole I noticed when washing them. THE INSIDES WERE FULL OF VARIOUS COLORED SCRAP FABRICS!!!! You could take your largest scraps (the back and front don't even need to match) and stuff them with tiny scraps and make pot holders!!!!

    Watched all 4 of the mini-series - very interesting! I do have one suggestion: for you next pin cushion. I would make the poof to go around a steel wool scrubby. As you compress it, the steel wool is tightened and when in use the steel wool will help clean and sharpen any pins and needles placed into it.

    One of my favourite things to look at in a fabric store is the remnants basket. Usually the stuff there has been discounted a bunch and is exaclty the right amount of fabric for smaller projects. I usually use them to make doll clothes :)

    my brother has made scarves out of scrap fabric. it 's kinda fun to see how mosaic-y it looks in the end when you're just trying to make a vague rectangle by sewing edges together, and it uses a considerable amount of fabric, especially if you double the layers for added warmth. i personally like making embroidered patches out of mine, but it's a much slower process and probably not a viable singular use for someone who makes a lot of scraps.

    I was considering buying one of these for my embroidery/cross stitch projects, but after watching this video I’m totally going to make one for myself!

    I had actually made a mini ring version of this when I first started sewing because I accidentally made it too small. But it still works great and I'm planning on making a wrist one as you have and (hopefully) making it the right size.

    I love these DIY's. I want to make all of these. I have lots of scraps and sore joints so I'm going to make mug rugs and a big cushion footrest.

    Hi Annika! I loved this series and I hope you make more videos for it. This inspired me to take some old scraps and make reusable cotton rounds out of them so I dont have to use a new one each time I wash my face.
