This is one of the best videos I have seen!! I did not even think of using a WiFi module out of a tablet for use as a WiFi receiver that works over any USB. AWESOME!!!!

1. To drop voltage with 2 diodes will not work if you use pwm powersupply, some diodes can cut the pwm. So you need to be more specific to general diy guys. 2. Most diodeas have voltage drop of 200mv, so you need to be more specific too.

Drivers for XP pc's?

So, Theoretically you could connect some sort of USB port in place of that wifi module on tablet, and connect hub or mouse/kb. lol

I wonder if salvaged WiFi from sky box or router would work ....sky 1 is actually off the board with jst connection​ .....or would there be a driver problem lol

not every tablet has a wifi module. newer ones have it built into the main board and you cannot remove it. Also it is BEST ti yse 3.3 regulation that a pair of diodes. And arduino breadboard PSU will work also

I had a samsung bluray player that doesn't power up or anything it has a built-in wifi 802.11g/b/n I install it on my dell mini 910 and install ubuntu and it works like a charm also I am gonna use the blue laser for another project

It can be 1N4007, because voltage drop is about 0,7V each. In series that means 1,4V. So 5V - 1,4V = 3,6V.

i try two series diode in4007 and the multimeter shows 6+ volts,i supply it with 5v

Bike Jake closed core and wrapped in tin foil would do just fine if it really is issue, but the radio signal used by this is in the spectrum of megahertz. meanwhile the inductor for buck converter wont use more than 70 khz. alsoo if the inductor would be isse the charging circuit and the processor voltage regulation circuits in the tablet would also cause problems when used there

I have a challenge for you. Build a 3 stage lab power supply using components salvaged from 'wall wort' transformers, and small common switch mode power supplies. By 3 Stage I mean build a power supply that can be bridged in different configurations. For example the supply could be set up where Stage 1 and 2 are in series for a +/-15Vdc supply for op amps, while stage 3 is available for powering other devices at different levels. All stages must be independently adjustable for 1.5-15 volts DC in the 100mA to 1-1.5A range. Make a true low budget design by giving a target range for components instead of specific parts. Instead of listing a part like a TIP42 Transistor, list PNP BJT Transistor with Ubc/Ube/Ic/etc. This will help people think about using what they can salvage instead of ordering a specific part just because you used it. Most of all, you can't use hobby specialty parts so no LM317s etc. Most people can salvage 3-4 switch mode power supplies and wall worts if they don't already have some laying around.
