    I got to say man you really nail it on videos!! More than 50% of other KZread creators could learn so much of how a good video should be Yours demonstrates: #1 - unnecessary jabber #2 - to the point instruction !!! #3 - unnecessary face shots #4 - excellent editing to keep videos concise and to the point #5 - good constant flow of instruction and techniques with just a tiny bit extraneous opinion and thoughts (but not over kill and preachy) Bravo brother- should make a video on how to make a video.

    Great demonstration of how your vapor blasting cabinet works. I am in the process of modding my "Harbor Freight" blast cabinet and may consider setting up a similar vapor blasting setup because it is portable enough to remove when not in use. I am in Canada and do not keep my workshop heated all of the time so would need to be able to switch between wet blasting in the summer and dry blasting in the winter. A couple of editing tips from a fellow video creator with even fewer subscribers than you have. You have great detailed content and you do a good job of explaining it in clear detail but you do have a tendency to repeat yourself. For instance, one or two demos of the wire clamp technique would have been great in this video but showing all six became a bit redundant. Another suggestion to watch is overall video length. Check your KZread Analytics and see what your average watch time is. My channel seems to run between 3-4 minutes on several of my videos. I guess I am not all that engaging. If you find that people are tuning out long before the end of the video, a useful technique is to break things up into shorter segments. My 3x10 minute videos do much better than my 30 minute long videos. Keep up the great work. Your vapor blaster works awesome.

    I have been making these wire clamps using a rivet tool to tighten the clamp one wire at a time. I made those clamps for some years that way before I heard of this kind of tool. Needs only about 2 inches extra wire instead of the 12 or so for your tool. I also can make wire zip ties the same way. Still, an interesting tool.

    Awesome video; love the clamps; love the foot control and the rest of the setup! Thanks for figuring it all out. Looks like I have a new project. One question, do you ever feel the need to go back to dry bead or other media blasting? Do you have a dry blaster along with this vapor blaster?

  • @vbared

    @vbared

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello John, Thank you for commenting and words of encouragement. I'm glad you found value for your viewing time. I researched both types of media blasting before putting together my wet system. It really comes down to what you'll be doing the most of. If most of what you're doing is coating and rust removal then I would go with a dry system. For cleaning and polishing parts then a wet system is what I would choose again. I can strip powder coat, paint and remove rust but it takes much longer. Another problem I run into when dealing with rust removal in a wet system is flash rust but a channel subscriber suggested adding a rust inhibitor to water. I haven't tried that but it sounds promising. Should you do an equal amount of all the aforementioned work, your budget permits then both dry and wet systems is will reduce overall production time. Best of luck with your projects!

    Well done presentation! I was wondering if you had problems keeping the glass clean? I noticed other video's where they had a water hose inside the cabinet and a wiper motor to clean the glass. Any comments regarding that setup?

  • @vbared

    @vbared

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello G RP, thanks again for commenting. My goal was to build a budget low cost simple vapor honing unit that most people could easily put together. Keeping the glass clean is a bit of a pain for me since I don't have the wiper or water jet that intermittently sprays down the glass. RainX works really well in repelling the water away from the glass when I use the glass bead media. The garnet that I currently have in the system to strip paint etches the glass making it look foggy. A wiper setup using garnet will add more scratches to the glass. If you plan to only use glass beads and have the extra budget to add a wiper setup, go for it. I hope I answered your question clearly. Cheers!

    Hello Darryl, Thank you for commenting. I'm using 1/2" from the compressor to the check valve just inside the cabinet and 5/8" from the other side of the check valve to the air side of the V3 blast gun I designed. The media pump hoses are all 5/8" all the way to the media side of the blast gun. Best of luck with your build!

    Late to the show here but did you notice a difference in changing out the 3/8 hose for 1/2 hose. IDK why people make such a big deal out of cfm on a blast cabinet and then proceed to downsize and add more fittings, I'd imagine doing this would affect cfm. So did you notice that you're cleaning parts quicker by upsizing?

  • @vbared

    @vbared

    10 ай бұрын

    Hi Jake, I never used it with the 3/8 hosing. I wanted to make sure I had as much air available for the system to use as possible. My tank is 60 gallons so to me it made more sense to have 100ft of 1/2 inch hose that can store more additional air volume than a 3/8 hose and have the fewest restrictions to maximize flow.

  • @Sauce_Is_Here

    @Sauce_Is_Here

    @vbared Okay, It looked like you had upgraded from 3/8 to 1/2. Thanks for the response! Also wanted to state I decided to go with a solenoid switch with a one-way valve and use an electric foot switch. This way, there was 1/2 all the way to the cabinet, and I didn't have to fiddle with the air valve foot switch. The solenoid and foot switch was $80 vs the $120 I was seeing for the Eastwood valve. Just preference, of course, but this way, I have the vacuum, lights, wiper, and window spray all wired to the foot switch, and it's a one tap system. I hated having to go shut the vacuum off and flip 3 switches before I could blast.
