Keep in mind, if your not due to have it removed for say 3-4-5 months, wait till that time is up, you try and remove it now not only will intoxalock know but the garage will know as well and they’re legally required to report that to intoxalock so don’t be stupid bc you’ll end up in jail!

You're a lifesaver though I'm stuck towards the end. Mines on a 2014 Dodge Dart, so the wiring is beneath but also very far back so it's hard to see what I'm doing. I can't appear to find the connectors or really any yellow piece for reconnecting the white and brown wires, any advice?

Each installer does it different. I am no expert. I just used reason and logic. Remove the all the plastic and apply what I did here with reason and logic. YOU CAN DO IT

Assuming you were authorized to remove by monitoring authority, did intoxalock care that you removed yourself? Im debating removing or waiting but don’t want them to try and charge me for the device

6 months later and I’m still waiting for my court date because TX courts are so backed up. Intoxalock won’t authorize device removal without approval from monitoring authority but I literally don’t have any monitoring authority yet, so I called my county and they said my lawyer and I would have to petition to the courts for the removal approval. That wouldn’t yield a quick enough resolution and the courts might not approve it anyway so I’m taking mine out to try to sell my car before I’m actually ordered to have one. I don’t give a shit what Intoxalock says because I’m not breaking any law, I’ll also just call my bank to block Intoxalock from charging my account lol

@@thetriumphguys323 Hey bud tanks for the info. I have a 2013 Cadillac CTS with the Smart Start/Lifesafer Interlock that has been an absolute catastrophe from literally day of the install. I don't want to damage my ECM or any other electrical components. I have all the right tools and am adequately mechanically inclined. My device continued to run all night for a couple of nights in a row draining my battery both times. Bought a new battery but I'm not positive as to which wires I should reconnect. They had it spliced into the main wiring harness at the fuse block located under the hood. It was absolutely the poorest workmanship from a wiring standpoint I've ever seen and being Vice President of an all GM Dealer for 16 yrs i've seen quite a bit of shit. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I've written 15 letters to The Executive Hearings Office with videos, pictures and other evidence substantiating the malfunctioning of the device while in operation. Thanks in advance bud. Same here. Intoxalock double my payment after promising it only to be $63 per month. Been tempted to just take the fucker out and be done with it.

The piece of junk I have keeps saying error 10, and I haven’t done anything wrong. This is good to know in case this outfit dies on me somewhere. I can bypass it and get home. I have a month and a half left, the company is finding ways to charge me more. What I might do is put a battery maintainer on it and let it time out.

I mentioned to their foreign support that they may have a class action lawsuit gearing up. I understand that they got sued once already and lost! I heard excuses and all I can say about them is “plausible”. I just have a little over a month and a half left and the ticket is almost 21 years old. Washington state is broke and they’re grasping for straws.

It’s so crazy how it’s English speakers in the beginning to take your money, then you get the thing on and it’s hard to reach anyone & when you do it’s foreigners. I called yesterday to make my removal appointment and got the run around. Definitely mentioned a lawsuit as well. The misleading and random fee are ridiculous. Crazy on how they don’t focus on the real issue…safety. All money.

So you cut the white wire in the middle of both yellow connectors nd then rewired your white wire to 1 nd the brown wire to the other 1

No. The Brown wire and the white wire coming out of the module were going into the yellow connectors. This was the break in the line that the device controlled. I simply put the 2 yellow connectors back together with a piece of white wire.

I'm assuming the white wire was just one solid were. Then when the module was added they split it and linked it to the white and brown. So those 2 yellow connectors were just conveniently leftover

This did the trick, but instead of cutting a small one inch wire to place between the yellow barrels, i just left some brown and white hanging from the dash and twisted them together, works like a charm

My time has been done for a couple weeks I just don’t have the money to pay to uninstall and the biweekly payments keep adding up I really don’t know what to do

Whats the point of disconnect the IID if you will get caught doing so. Now if you post " HOW NOT TO GET CAUGHT REMOVING IID DEVICE ". You then will have something there. Because if you think im snipping wires under my dash for no good reason other then doing it on my own, like removing stitches from a cut or something. I would just have an installer remove it right. I dont think anyone really cares how to remove it less its not to be detected and/ or caught.

You forgot to mention that only a state certified interlock service center is allowed to remove these if this is a court ordered device (vs voluntary device). Can't speak on every state, but if you remove it yourself, it's considered tampering with your device and they re-suspend your license.

Why not just remove the 2 red connectors? 1 is for ignition sense, (green from the harness) The other is for the power. Lastly, rather than jump a white wire to two yellow connectors, I would solder them and put a shrink tube on. That is your starter wire and it the connectors ever wiggle loose-no turn over engine. Just my 2 cents.

So you mean to tell me I have to pay on a device that I can't drive on and if I take it out of my blown motor I'll go to jail because I was doing the right thing?

So if you have a court ordered intoxilock and you're removing it. It defeats the purpose. An alcoholic that has received one to many DUI's obviously can not say no to driving under the influence. @f.b3059 Coping using alcohol is an alcoholic. Using alcohol and driving isn't coping, it's criminal. There's new technology coming that only needs a finger touch to measure boc. For repeat offenders, there's a wristband that measures boc and reports the offenders. Your comment about minding my own business......while sharing the roadways with a drunk driver, it is absolutely my business. If one wants to obliterate their personal life sucking down alcohol, go for it. Drink and drive I and everyone else on the roads are watching.
