The best building series I have seen .
Been following your build. Great craftsmanship.
Amazing! Thank you for allocating the time to document the build process! Take Care
Build came out great! Never listen to the negative people on here, most are just jealous 👍

Beautiful,clean design!
Very nice, happy travels & stay safe.
Very Nice and spacious Solid Build. CONGRATS
Wonderful! Such a great family effort. Super design and execution. Now, can you ship it to me in Maine, USA? :)
I loved seeing the whole family working together on this build. So well thought out and complete with creature comforts. I travel full time in a 17' Fiberglass Casita travel trailer and I am always so worried about weight for the F150 but I figure I am good. Loved every episode and I learned a lot! Thank You.
Beautifully done - congratulations!
what a good job. well designed.
Thanks for sharing...Very cool. The only thing I would add is some type of trim around the right angles for protection purposes. Anyway...very inspiring. Thanks for sharing
Amazing build !
Kudos! Well done 👍
Nice skilled build! Sweet!
Its good gob. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool I just finished mine its not quit as nice as your lol but it was fun building Great video series Happy New Year
Realy cool! And now you have a subscriber from Russia :)
Love the idea, but when you was driving up that incline you could see the camper racking, Would have loved to see 4 walls & the ceiling being tied in with the build instead of a 3 piece/level vertical build. But i say that respectfully love.. PEACE , LOVE & PRAYERS..

The entire camper unit seems to be staying straight even if the truck cab/camper are moving side to side as a unit. I do not see any flex in the camper from this video. But I would have triangulated the structure in a few places where it is possible. Also I would have put glue everywhere and spread it evenly before screwing the panels to take advantage of the full contact area between the wood components. Done this way, you spread the stress over a much greater surface than just screws. Other than that, a great build .
I think I saw that you were going to do a cost video, I'd be interested in that as well. And it sounds like you said 350-400kg for weight, but I don't think I saw any dimensions anywhere. I'm interested in maybe trying something myself, so any tips/ideas you might have would be great. Thanks for the videos!
PERFECTA 👌 NADAMAS FALTO LOS FOCOS ADENTRO Y POR FUERA
Most impressive.
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I want to do that! I am going to do that. You have inspired me so much. Quick question. How much does it weigh? What is the payload of your truck? What engine is in your Ram?
I had a 2004 dakota with out rust spot on it. Undercoated and very pretty with the matching cap. I loved that truck. I got from a dealer and it was trade in. i got it cheap because of all the little mechanical issues. I fixed every thing. I was going to have it rust proofed again and some asshole on the phone rear ended my wife and totaled my truck. I was so mad and still am today. Insurance in total only paid about 8 grand and that truck was not replaceable for that money. That was 2 years ago and it still pisses me off. I can find a nice one for 8 grand but not that nice. Garage kept and all the records. all i had to do was deal with the motor and drive train for the rest of my life and would have replaced any thing like that. a truck like that brand new cost 40 grand.
How much did it weigh? Excellent build hope you enjoy many travels
Bravo messieurs
Dakota rear springs are rated around 2400ish pounds per spring so 800 pounds isn't over kill for it.
This is an awesome build. I'm thinking of starting my own project like this. Is there anyway i can get a rough blueprint?
Nice build Congratulations! Do you have an idea how much is the total weight of the camper alone? I like the idea of using thin plywood reinforced with fiberglass and resin ,light and waterproof , thank you for the series of videos that has great ideas when I decide to build one but I am thinking welding a metal square tubing frame around ... thanks for the inspirations !

Hey frank thank you so much, i really like how this camper came out.. The weight is around 350kg, this includes electrical/lithium battery + diesel heater with a full tank. Fully loaded with water, kitchen, bedding ect its around 450kg. The weight seems to be no problem for the truck so far. 450kg is fairly light compared to what to buy on the market.. The fiberglass is holding up nice so far, no leaks or cracks and wood is just easy to work with. My 3rd camper is gonna be made the same way i guess.. If i had the skill and tools for some metal work i would definetly wanna try that too 🤔👍 thanks for you comment and lets see some footage of your build once you start 😊

@@TruckHomeSwitzerland Considering the materials use, I think the weight is very reasonable. Well done, bravo! Cheers from OZ
How do you secure that camper down on the truck? Big wind might just take it. But it is a beauty for sure.
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
The camper is secured with 4 ratchet straps, each strap can hold 500kg. On the truckbed we installed some heavy duty tie down O rings, same on the camper itself. After 7000km of driving all the way up sweden, the camper didn't even move a little.
This is very close to what i want to do... how tall is it? Great Job
Cool
Heyy awesome job, love the design i was wondering what type of wood did you use, and was it 2x2 wood??
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
Hey, type of wood is spruce, we used mainly 2×2cm besides the long ones front to back 2×4cm
Complimenti, bello, ma una domanda vi voglio fare: questa tipologia di camper è omologata?. Ciao.
Well, You certainly need that Truck for this build. I know most, of us are proud of what we are doing, but if going to this extend, then why not use extruded Alu profile Systems available with all connectors and use Alu Honeycomb panel inserts. Would be not even half of the weight and would look Pro too, if done well. Price would be a bit more but yeah, you would compensate it with less fuel and less Suspension / brakes Maintenance i guess. Just my thoughts on it.

Hey, thanks! This camper is still considered a "load" so just strap it down and you're good to go!
Did you paint and use fiberglass cloth? If so, what type of paint did you use? Great build!
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks blake 😊 when mixing epoxy resin and hardener we added the grey color (i think ral7001) and mixed it all together before applying on the fiberglas cloth. I don't think you can mix any type of paint with epoxy resin, the one we used was from an epoxy store.. You could also do the epoxy work without color, let it dry, sand it down and use any type of paint you want 👍
Looks really top heavy, but awesome build

Hello @TRUCKHOMESWITZERLAND, how did you anchor the home to the truck? I am doing the same design for my dakota. Thanks!
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
hey justin. the anchors on the truck bed and the camper are done the same way. we drilled holes, used threaded rods and heavy duty metal o-rings. 4 anchors on the bed and 4 on the camper. a ratched strap in each corner rated up to 500kg each. i would not recommend using the original tie down points on the dakota truck bed. i have driven many kms with this setup and never had any issues :)
Si je comprend bien tu attache avec des tiedow est ce correct ?
is it missing the clearance lights?

Hallo, danke erstmal.
Pity you didn't do the bit of extra work and fared the fiberglass to get rid of the ugly seams where the glass has been overlapped. It would've made a world of difference to a well made and good looking camper. i did the same thing with my kayak, couldn't be bothered faring it, but it's just a kayak
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, i will do some extra work once it gets warmer here. I don't like it either.. I built the camper in my neighborhood and i had some noise complaints since i used the sanding machine for like 5hrs straight...but at least it's sealed lol
is there a measured drawing ?
@TruckHomeSwitzerland
2 жыл бұрын
Yes but not exactly 100% like the cabin you see here. We did little changes.. I might upload that at some point
Why didn't you go all the way to Baghdad? I mean, you did everything so well but the upholstery inside, the finish of the cab outside were pretty rough. The feel is what folks would sometimes call hillbilly chic. Not criticizing, I suspect it was your plan all along for the rugged terrain you're using it for. The bones are well built, the utilities are impressive.

hey man, there's is for sure plenty of things we could have done better you're right. i was building the cabin in the middle of my neighborhood, i had some noise complaints about using my sanding machine for like 8 hrs nonstop haha. so yeah i had to stop and it is what it is now..i might sand it down again in the near future and make it look smoother

@@TruckHomeSwitzerland that’s great normally people have to add helper springs or upgrade suspension
That’s needs a lot of help
Way too heavy 6 people on each side to lift it ??? On the small sized truck ??? Time will tell , let us all know it's future.
no thumbs for the fact this person worked to make a cab inn in the back of the truck nothing new. Loved the adventure that is all
Poor dodge dakota looks heavy
