That room will be so cool when he gets bigger. That ‘nursery’ section will be the coolest toy/reading/play nook.

I inherited my grandmother’s little incolay jewelry box. It sat on the windowsill in her kitchen my entire childhood until I asked her as a teen, if I could have it “someday.” She’d put her rings in it when she washed dishes, but she made me take it right then. It’s such a beautiful material and that clock is gorgeous ❤.

While the price of candles can be intimidating, i do truly believe the price is reasonable taking in all factors. I wish that you did have a sample pack though! Maybe a pack of tealights of all the scents you have so far? If im spending some $$$ on a candle id love to smell them all first so i pick out one ill truly love! 💜

I waited to install a baby gate thinking that there would not be a need for a long time, and my baby girl, who could not even sit up yet, army crawled to the door, opened it by the bottom and was at the top of the stairs as I had my back turned for a moment in the bathroom. You think there is time but as soon as you’ll let him lay on a blanket on the floor, you need to start the baby proofing. They surprise you with what they will get into, for sure. Cover the outlets, bolt the furniture, install the baby gates now.

I think it would be a good idea to mount the bookshelf to the wall rn. I'm also on the west coast and the risk of earthquakes keeps me attaching things to walls, just in case! Especially in a child's room ❤️ thanks for taking us with you!

It's the perfect height for the nursery space and looks so much nicer lighter. The gunky feeling always makes my skin crawl a bit but nothing a but of elbow grease doesn't shift

As soon as I saw the clock I thought it looked like soap stone. I believe it is the same as Incolay stone. Such a sweet little treasure to put on the adorable book shelf. You make DIYS look so easy. I think it would look cool if you continued the wainscotting throughout the rest of the room to get the cohesion your looking for as well as paint it all that second bottom color!! Bookcase is a really pretty piece - it came out great!

MaCenna I love how the book shelf is turning out. If you wallpapered the back you wouldn’t see the yellow tone. Also, I would consider not having the bookshelf next to the crib. My baby always would steal the books and use it to escape. If it can fit to the left of the rocker it might keep him from being an escape artist as fast. ♥️♥️♥️

Stating this from a place of concern. Easy off is not meant to be used on porous surfaces. Unlike your oven, which has a non-porous surface, wood expands and contracts depending on the level of heat or humidity in a room. That means that even after you've finished stripping your furniture with oven cleaner, the chemicals stay in the wood, releasing fumes into your home over time.

I don’t think you ever tripped any furniture. This is the best and SAFEST for a fast effective result. She is very safe with baby, everything is good.

Just watched this with my baby, who is 17yo. She told a story about you this week to encourage one of her shy fans (she was Dorothy in Fbg Theater Co's WOZ recently). It was her first day of her first job ever, and you were one of her first customers. She told the little girl how meeting people like you gets easier as we mature and that she was so glad she faced her fear that day because you encouraged her much. She did the same with this little girl. -Mama of six who has mourned the end of every pregnancy too (every season really), but even as I have had huge joy in the new ones too. Soaking in six grandbaby seasons these days, even as my baby girl enters her final year of high school.

I love the bookshelf. Make sure you secure it to the wall even before he starts moving around. We’ve had a few earthquakes here in southern California lately. Just thinking of his safety.

You did a great job on that bookshelf. My advice would be to keep it outside for at least a week because you really want to make sure that all the chemicals smell is out of it before you put it in the babies room.

I am yelling at your video…”It’s resin”…and you immediately said “It’s probably resin!” 😊. Absolutely loved the shelf, it’s perfect for a child! Perhaps you could line the inside or at least paint the back panel and maybe do some transfer print-small bosts, cars, teddies? Or even a stripe! Whatever you do will be perfection!!! It always is! I absolutely love candles and burn them 365 days but sadly, I can't afford your price. I don't hold your prices agsinst you at all. Just a suggestion for future ventures...three candles at half the size for the cost of 65 or 75 bucks and customers can choose their scents. I'm willing to invest in a candle if I know it works and the scent is top notch. 50+ bucks for Cali may be normal but not for most of America.

I feel like the wood bleach added more orange and yellow back into the wood. Maybe do another layer of Easy-Off and see what happens. I thought the color looked a bit cooler after you did that first. MaCenna, I have mounted my ladder like yours horizontal, so then it became a wall shelf. When you style it, it holds books and knick knacks. I wish I could show your my ladder styled, I think it would give you the vision.

A fantastic place to look for clothing, furniture, books and toys is an organization called "Just Between Friends". They have spring/summer and fall/winter sales in a variety of locations all over the US. They are very particular with their vendors. They have sizes from newborn to high school. Sometimes, you can even find clothing still with tags on, especially for babies and toddlers. I've shopped there and wished they were around when my done son was younger.

Just a suggestion: please take precautions when you are out with the baby especially when you touching all those things at antique shops and yard sale. Such a cute family. You are truly blessed.

This is crazy to see this video because I was just in LA last Sunday on a road trip from the Bay Area and went to that flea market and saw that bookshelf and was sooo close to buying it but it wouldn’t have fit into the car with all our stuff! Seeing this video made me glad I didn’t buy it so you could but also sad that I didn’t see you there in person. We must’ve just missed each other. Beautiful job on the piece by the way, I love it lighter!

I wonder if you just picked a cute wallpaper to apply to the back of the bookcase if that would make the other wood look closer to what you want. Thanks for teaching us about bleaching wood - love the ez off trick!

You could paint the back panel the darker color on the nursery and leave the rest of the wood as is, or stain the lighter wood like you were saying. Once the are many children's things in it, I think it might look nice with the back panel painted. Just a thought....😊

Looove the shelf next to your chair. The detail on the top of the shelf reminds me of a building or a tower so having it next to the hanging moon makes the room look so whimsical and dreamy and really makes the starry sky wall come alive with all those elements working together like that.

I know you’ve probably already sorted the bookcase out, but I had an idea. I agree that it’s just the back panel that is more yellow and thought about how you used wallpaper to go on the back panel of the curio cabinet.If you could find something that matches the room or even repeat the wall colour and stars I think that would give it the look your going for. I hope this gives you some food for thought, I know what ever you do will look amazing. Love to the family (can’t wait to see the Kitchen)❤

U could paint the back panel the same colour as the top of your walls in nursery and bring it together like that. Try painting a piece of paper first, so no big redo 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you dont like it. OR temp paper fix to the back, like faux wood paper? Just to save time with a baby ❤

Love the mini book shelf, great find. If its just the back of the book case you don't like the colour of, you could paint the back only, to match the room and leave the rest of the timber the bleached colour.

I recommend getting a plaster of Paris casting kit, they are all over Amazon, to cast his baby hand and foot. I did it for my son and I still love it 20 yrs later. It's so special to have it to go back and see how small he once was.

Love Cade's little bookcase. It was really exciting to see the bleaching process and how much it changed the look. Maybe you could wallpaper or paint the back panel.
