If anyones reading this I feel like it's important to note that you should never just take down a wall without getting your house checked first. It could be load bearing without you even knowing.

This comment makes absolutely no sense and I’m sick and tired of you people 😂 First, They are renovating their own home. Leaving problems behind for who? Themselves ? Unfortunately, problems are a part of learning. And this is a DIY sir. Second. they clearly know what they’re doing since the house has not caved in. How do you know they didn’t already get an inspector that gave approval? Oh wait you don’t. Now, the question stands, since you obviously didn’t know any of this. why do You care about someone else’s project when at the very end, they found absolute joy In it. Just miserable for no reason?

Licensed general contractor 😂😂😂. What schooling did you attend to acquire such a license? What you really mean is that you paid $90 to register your business to the state as a Home Improvement Contractor lol. That’s not a license bud, it’s a registration so the state can collect a fee every year. That in no way implies that you are qualified to do anything. I know several realtors and investors that have an HIC registration as well and don’t even own any tools.

Just know that if you come into a Reno video comment section and mention anything about load bearing walls you look like an amateur. Everyone in these comments thinks they are an engineer. All she showed us was her removing the drywall, the wall is still load bearing at that point. Then in the next shot you can clearly see the beam, and joists that are hung to this beam. So the load is now bearing on the beam. Now for those complaining about the electrical, once again you are not a professional and it is showing because it is very easy to re run these circuits and re wire that part of the wall. Yea there are some shady diys but before you comment, at least look at the video a couple of times

There's a lot of stuff that obviously you should leave to the professionals, however, there's even more things that you really can just do yourself. If you don't trust watching a KZread tutorial, just do what my aunt did. Hire some guys to work on one part of the house, ask around and find which guys would normally work on the project that you're trying to do, and just ask how to do it. Thats how she learned to build a porch.

Hiring a professional to do huge construction projects is a wise decision. Most people will make many mistakes which will cause problems down the road when they go to sell. I've seen so many awful renos totally botched by DIYers when they should have hired a proper contractor.

It’s okay, the video says you don’t have to know what you’re doing. 😂 😂 😂 The kids that were just eating tide pods are remodeling the house that you might buy someday.

With the prices of everything these days, this video needs some serious attention. People are gonna start doing things themselves more often and make this same mistake by taking out a wall that is holding your part of your house up. At least have an inspector tell you what you can and can’t remove..

Always find it funny how cheap everything is built in USA. It´s no wonder that everything keeps collapsing when there´s a slight breez. Looks grat, but ther´s never anything behind it.

my thought exactly, I used to be amazed at how women there can just build everything and drill everything onto the wall but then found out their walls is just a drywall. Here is my country the walls are bricks and concrete. And their ceilings would fall down when the person above stomping 😂
