I can't believe this trend is back. I met a girl today, she had to have been about 14, and she probably watched this tutorial, except she said she made it with black elastic. I embarrassingly told her I probably hadn't owned one of these since before she was born. AHHHH!

It stretches you just put it over your head but you have to tie the ends tight so they don't come apart

I found out how!! its in the way in which you pass one thread through the other, you have to make it so as the thread enters the loop from the top and passes underneath the second part of the loop and not the first... i dont know how to explain it but its the key to make them

the fact that you drew out the steps first was really cute!(:

I've been trying to make one for 2 hours and this simply isnt working... It always unties itself when im on the 5th loop or so and if i try to pull from either of the two ends the whole thing unravels and ioguhrguiheriug i need help please im going crazy, how do you do to pull the two things and have the whole thing come together instead of unraveling itself??

okay I got my stretch magic string from Joan's, thing is the string is too thin! can someone help me? where would I get a thicker black string material from?

i tried this with 3 different stretch cord that i bought from all different times, and it doesn't come out like the way i wanted or like yours. Maybe I'm not buying the right stretch cord or size, because some i bought are way to thin? That it doesn't work that well if i tried to aim for a tattoo choker.

this sentence right to me at all but that's because I come from the Netherlands and I can not very well english ... but as a question; which is chocker elastich enough to pull it over your head and you can can also dismiss him just that way again?

i bought some of these in Hawaii and thought about getting some more on easy but this is so much easier and so cheap! thank you!

I remembered these from my childhood and started wearing them again about five years ago. It's very strange to me because when I started wearing them again I was the only one in the entire metro Detroit area and I felt unique, now they're everywhere and the trend only seems to be increasing! Same with velvet & yin/yang signs. This has happened with my sense of style my entire life. I almost feel like my life is a conspiracy. XD

Did you use stretchy cord?? I looked for a stretch one but I couldn't find it so I just got a leather one and one for connecting flowers("florist's wire" was written)

can you please be more specific in what kind of string you used? type of width, brand, ect? ive looked and theres .19 inch, and .39in. i got 5M stretch magic and my loops dont stay..

I was so excited to go out and buy some "majic" string and ended up not finding any really. I live in Nz haha I basically just went for a yolo decision because I really wanted to make one and bought a roll of elastic string. Its pretty much the same only much very fragile. Still looks good though!

omg i am glad you did this diy cause my dad wont spend money on chokers but my dad will let me buy the stretch magic to make them and plus i can have more than one with out paying for each single one i going to make :)
