DIY Tailgate Platform (Mountain Hatch inspired!)
Im sure I'm not the only person that dislikes trying to utilize a tailgate for delicate tasks and not having enough flat workspace. Theres plenty of products on the market that alleviate this.. but only in newer model trucks. In this video ill show you how I created my own mounting points and fitted up a plastic UV resistant "cutting board" to turn the whole tailgate into a usable workspace on a 2002 Dodge Dakota.
.
.
Tools I used:
-Masking Tape
-Marker
-(4) 12" carpentry clamps
-Straightedge that will span length of your cuts
-Drill with small pilot bit and appropriate sized bit according to the size rivnut you choose, mine was sized for 1/4-20 rivnuts.
-Circular Saw
-Impact gun with appropriate bit
-RivNut tool ( )
